TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study of U distribution with that of some major constituents of soils shows a clear relationship between its behavior and the pedogenetic processes, and a clear redistribution of U is observed in profiles of podzolic soils, which is related to the particular organic geochemistry of these soils.

TL;DR: The vertical distribution of U in hydromorphic soils is not related to climatic conditions and weathering rates but it depends essentially on local factors, i.e. water-table characteristics and topography as discussed by the authors.
