Bessy SX/700: A monochromator system covering the spectral range

Reflectance measurements are used to calculate the ordinary and extraordinary optical constants of an anisotropic MgFz crystal in the energy range 11 to 28 eV. Partially linearly polarized light is used and a method of least squares is employed to compute the results. An excitonic splitting of 0.5 eV is observed at the r point. The anisotropy of the forbidden gap is 0.2 eV while that of plasmon is 0.3 eV. A tentative interpretation is given based upon a symmetry group analysis at the T point.



Reflexionsmessungen werden zur Berechnung der ordentlichen und auBerordentlichen optischen Konstanten eines anisotropen MgF2-Kristalls im Energiebereich von 11 bis 28 eV benutet. Es wird tcilweise linear-polarisiertes Licht verwendet und eine Methode der kleinsten Quadrate zur Berechnung der Ergebnisse herangezogen. Am r-Punkt wird eine exzitonische Aufspaltung von 0,5 eV beobachtet. Die Anisotropie der verbotenen Zone betragt 0,2 eV wahrend die des Plasmons 0,3 eV betragt. Es wird eine mogliche Erklarung angegeben, die auf einer Symmetriegruppenanalyqe am Γ-Punkt beruht.

Les fonctions dielectriques ordinaires et extraordinaires du nitrure de bore hexagonal ont ete calculees a partir de mesures multi-angle du pouvoir reflecteur pour une energie de rayonnement de 5 eV a 30 eV. Les spectres obtenus sont discutes en termes de transitions interbandes.

Vibrational relaxation by reversible intersystem crossing

Polychromatic or white-light OTF is put forward as a criterion of image quality for systems under actual working conditions. The formulae necessary to extend from the monochromatic to the polychromatic OTF are developed for the axial case. A computer programme has been developed and calculated results are compared with measurements.

On decrit une methode de calcul permettant d'obtenir les constantes optiques de materiaux isotropes et uniaxes a partir de mesures de pouvoir reflecteur effectuees en lumiere partiellement polarisee lineairement. Cette methode est basee sur une minimisation de l'ecart quadratique moyen entre les valeurs calculees et experimentales.
