The present invention relates to assisting patients in the taking of medication, and to assisting third parties in accumulating information regarding patient medication intake. The invention may be embodied a system including a portable medication monitor used in association with an instrumented medication package to provide intake data acquisition and patient support functions. The system may further be connected to a computer or computer network allowing information distribution between the medication monitor and third parties, such as physicians or pharmacists.

The first panel and the second panel each have a sliding surface facing one another. The conductive pathway of the first panel is in spaced relation to at least one of the first and second contact surfaces of the second panel when the first and second panels are in the first position. The conductive pathway bridges the first and second contact surfaces when the first and second panels are in the second position.

Single use, self-contained assay device for quantitative and qualitative measurements

There is provided a smart package and monitoring system having a status indicator and a method of making the same. The smart package includes an electronic sensor monitoring tag having re-usable electronic circuitry and power source along with a conductive grid printed on a thin flexible substrate and connected to the tag so the tag and grid are in electrical continuity to form a monitoring device. The conductive grid is aligned with an opening of the smart package. The smart package can also include an optical ink indicator configured to display the status of the package. A multiplexer can be used to connect the tag to the conductive grid. The conductive grid can include capacitive sensors formed on a thin plastic layer and positioned so as to form a capacitive element with the conductive side of the blister.

A smart package and monitoring system with indicator and method of making same

A method of filling a multi-dose blister card first includes selecting a first intermediate blister card comprising a plurality of tablets of a first product stored within a first plurality of intermediate blisters. Additionally, a multi-dose blister card including a plurality of multi-dose blisters that are empty is selected. The plurality of tablets of the first product from the first plurality of intermediate blisters are transferred into the plurality of multi-dose blisters. Next, a second intermediate blister card including a plurality of tablets of a second product stored within a second plurality of intermediate blisters is selected. The plurality of tablets of the second product are then transferred into the plurality of multi-dose blisters such that at least one of the multi-dose blisters contains one tablet of the first product and one product of the second product.

A medicament dispense sensing device

A response form containing a means of input that on manual influence can switch a conducting electrical circuit connected to an electronic unit (40) incorporated into the response form for registration of the said influence. The present invention provides such a response form at low cost and enables the use of the response form as a patient journal. The patient journal also can be integrated with a pharmaceutical response package. The response package is formed of a disposable material in the form of a sheet (12), and a conducting circuit (26) is printed onto one side (16) of the disposable material. The means of input can consist of circuit makers (30, 32) that are visually marked-on one side of the disposable material and that are arranged to make electrical contact across an interrupted loop (28) of the conducting circuit (26) upon pressing together localized inner surfaces (14, 16) of the disposable material which face each other. The means of input also may consist of circuit breakers that are visually marked on pieces of the disposable material and arranged to cause electrical interruption in a loop of the conducting circuit when these pieces are at least partially removed from the response form.
