The invention relates to stable oleaginous cosmetic or therapeutic foam compositions containing certain active agents, having unique therapeutic properties and methods of treatment using such compositions. The foamable composition includes at least one solvent selected from a hydrophobic solvent, a silicone oil, an emollient, a co-solvent, and mixtures thereof, wherein the solvent is present at a concentration of about 70% to about 96.5% by weight of the total composition, at least a non-ionic surface-active agent at a concentration of about 0.1% to less than about 10% by weight of the total composition; at least one gelling agent at a concentration of about 0.1% to about 5% by weight of the total composition; a therapeutically effective amount of at least one active agent; and at least one liquefied or compressed gas propellant, at a concentration of about 3% to about 25% by weight of the total composition.

Antibiotic kit and composition and uses thereof

A waterless composition suitable for delivery of an active agent to a body surface or cavity includes a vehicle having about 70% to about 99% by weight of a hydrophilic polar solvent, said hydrophilic solvent selected from the group consisting of (i) a mixture of two or more different polyethylene glycols (PEGs), wherein at least one PEG is a high molecular weight PEG having a melting point greater than 25° C.; and (ii) propylene glycol (PG); about 0% to about 10% of at least one surface active agent; about 0% to about 5% of a polymeric agent; about 0% to about 30% of a secondary hydrophilic solvent; and about 0% to about 5% of a silicone oil; and about 3% to about 25% hydrophobic propellant. The composition is otherwise substantially free of a hydrophobic solvent and includes at least one of a surface active agent and a polymeric agent. The vehicle and the propellant are sufficiently miscible that the components may be homogeneously distributed with mild shaking.

Hydrophilic, non-aqueous pharmaceutical carriers and compositions and uses

A dispenser is provided for delivering a controlled quantity of a granular material. The dispenser includes a container assembly, a diffuser and a metering cup. The container includes a reservoir which supports a disposable cartridge of granular material. The cartridge is supported in the reservoir so as to define a passageway therebetween. A nozzle is defined for the outflow of material from the cartridge. The diffuser is disposed on one end of the container and includes a plurality of apertures. The metering cup is disposed on the opposite end of the container and has an open end adapted to receive granular material. Adjustment of the axial spacing between the nozzle and metering cup varies the quantity of granular material collected in the cup. The granular material is dispensed by inverting the container to a second orientation, such that material flows out of the metering cup, through the passageway and out of the diffuser. The nozzle may serve as a piercing mechanism for opening the disposable cartridge upon its insertion into the reservoir.

Reconfigurable metered material dispenser

A container for refrigerated dough or other expandable products and a condiment cup therein for containing icing and the like includes the following construction. The container has an elongate cylindrical body with an interior wall of a predetermined diameter and end closures. The condiment cup is of a flexible plastic generally cup-shaped construction having a generally cylindrical side wall closed at one end by a dome-shaped convex end and open at the other end. The cylindrical side wall has an outside diameter only slightly less than the diameter of the container interior wall so as to provide a loose friction fit when the condiment cup is positioned within the container cylindrical body portion. The condiment cup is filled with condiment and positioned within the container at one end of the cylindrical body portion with the open end of the cup facing the end closure at the one end. The container is filled with refrigerated dough or other expandable product, so that, as the product expands within the container, the product will push against the dome-shaped convex end of the condiment cup for flexing the cup end inwardly to cause flexing of the cup side wall outwardly to provide a tighter friction fit with the container interior wall to seal the condiments in the cup from the product in the container.

Container and condiment cup for refrigerated dough or like products

A re-usable yarn carrier to be mounted on a winding machine and to have yarn wound on and unwound therefrom is provided. The yarn carrier includes a hollow cylindrical tube which is preferably made of a plastic material. Each end of the tube is provided with a channel. The transition between the outside surface of the tube and the channel is formed by a shoulder. A resilient ring is positioned within each channel. The resilient ring is engaged by the base surface of the channel and forms an engagement surface adjacent to the shoulder on the tube. Further, the end of the ring positioned proximal to the end of the tube forms a protective edge. Thus, if the tube is dropped, the ring takes the brunt of the force rather than the tube material itself. The formation of the ring within the channel within the tube forms a yarn winding engagement surface. In addition, the resilient rings may be provided in various colors and forms so as to provide identification for the type of yarn on the tube.

A cartridge filter is provided having a housing body, a sump releasably attached to the housing body, and a filter cartridge within the housing body releasably attached to the housing body by a screw connection. The sump is attached to the housing body by a separate screw connection. The screw connection includes a first screw formation on the sump having a sloped screw surface and, at the leading end, a lug projecting above the sloped screw surface. A second screw formation is also provided on the housing body having a sloped screw surface along which the lug can run. A further projection is positioned on the housing body to engage the leading end of said first screw formation and to deflect the lug so that the first screw formation hooks over the trailing end of the second screw formation, when the connection is fully tightened.

A dispenser is provided for sprinkling a preset quantity of granulated material, such as table salt. The dispenser comprises a granulated material reservoir, an enclosure, a metering cup, a cap, a collector and a diffuser. The reservoir has a side, a top and a bottom wall. The enclosure encases the reservoir side wall and is closed at one end by a cap adjacent to the reservoir bottom wall. The metering cup is positioned in the cap and an opening in the reservoir bottom wall communicates with and fills the metering cup. A collector is positioned adjacent to the top wall of the reservoir. A passageway formed between the reservoir sidewall and the enclosure communicates with the metering cup and collector. The diffuser is positioned adjacent to an opening in the collector and opposite the collector. When the dispenser is in the upright position, granulated material from the reservoir fills the metering cup. When the dispenser is inverted, the granulated material flows from the metering cup through the passageway to the collector. The collector directs the granulated material to the diffuser that sprinkles the granulated material over a desired area.
