In at least one embodiment, a crossbow comprises a stock, a first limb, a first rotatable member, a second limb and a second rotatable member. A bowstring, a first cable and a second cable each extend between the first rotatable member and the second rotatable member. The crossbow defines a shooting axis. The first cable is offset from the shooting axis in a first direction and the second cable is offset from the shooting axis in a second direction different from the first direction.

Crossbow cabling arrangement

A shooting bow with transition modules includes two string cams, two cables, a bow string, two limbs and a bow riser. The shooting bow may be a cross bow or a vertical bow. The first and second limbs extend from each end of the bow riser. The first and second cams are pivotally retained on the first and second limbs. The first and second cams retain a bowstring. The first and second cams retain the first and second cables. Each cam includes a cam ring, a cam hub and a transition module. The bow string is retained on cam ring. The cam hub includes an upper track, which continues to a lower track. The transition module includes a cable track. The cam hubs and the transition modules allow the cams to be rotated as much as 330 degrees.

A cocking system for a crossbow. A string carrier slides along the center rail during movement with the draw string in the released configuration to a retracted position that locates the draw string in the drawn configuration. A trigger is positioned to move the catch from the closed position and the open position to fire the crossbow when the string carrier is in the retracted position. At least one cocking rope is configured to engage with the string carrier to retract the string carrier and the draw string to the drawn configuration. A retaining mechanism retains the string carrier in the retracted position and the draw string in the drawn configuration independent of the cocking ropes.

Cocking system for a crossbow

A reverse style crossbow preferably includes a bow riser, a barrel, a latch, a first limb, a second limb, a first cam, a second cam, a first string pulley, a second string pulley and a bowstring. The riser is attached to the barrel at substantially a middle thereof. The first limb extends from a first end of the riser and the second limb extends from a second end of the riser. The first cam is pivotally retained on a distal end of the first limb and the second cam is pivotally retained on a distal end of the second limb. The latch is attached to a top of the barrel. The riser may be located in front of the latch, behind the latch or under the latch. The first string pulley extends from one side of the barrel and the second string pulley extends from an opposing side thereof.

Reverse style crossbow

A reduced length crossbow with a trigger located near a midpoint of the crossbow and a small included angle of the draw string when in the drawing configuration that creates a space between the draw string and the user's face. The included angle of the draw string when in the drawing configuration may be less than about 25 degrees. The trigger is typically located proximate the midpoint within about 10% of the overall length of the crossbow.

Reduced length crossbow

A shooting bow includes pulleys, a string latch, bow riser, barrel, first limb, second limb, a first cam, and a second cam. The bow riser is enjoined with the barrel. The first and second limbs extend from the bow riser. The first and second cams are pivotally retained on the first and second limbs. A bowstring is retained by the first and second cams. A first pulley and a second pulley are retained on the barrel. Both cams have a string track and a cable track. One end of the string is coupled to the first cam and the other end is coupled to the second cam. As for both cables, one end is coupled to the first cam, the middle of the cable travels around a pulley or track, and the other end is coupled to the first limb, first cam axle or back to the cam.

A projectile launching device includes self-timing without cam lean. The projectile launching device may include a rail, a riser, two energy storing components, (such as two limbs), two cams, a launch string, and at least one cable. The ends of the launch string are attached to the two cams. Opposing ends of first and second cables may be coupled to the rail or riser. A mid-portion of the first and second cables are slideably engaged with the first and second cams, respectively. Alternatively, a single cable may replace the first and second cables. The two cams are preferably built as mirror images of each other at a centerline of the rail. The two cams include a launch string track, having identical, but mirrored, upper and lower cable tracks.

A reverse style crossbow having four pulleys preferably includes a barrel, a riser, a first limb, a second limb, a first cam and a second cam. The riser is attached to the barrel. The first and second limbs extend from opposing ends of the riser. The first and second cams are rotatably retained on distal ends of the first and second limbs. First and second barrel pulleys are rotatably retained on opposing sides of the barrel. A first limb pulley is rotatably retained by the first limb and a second limb pulley is rotatably retained by the second limb. One end of a first cable is attached to the first cam and the other end is attached to the barrel. One end of a second cable is attached to the second cam and the other end is attached to the barrel. A single cable may also be used.

Reverse style crossbow having four cable pulleys

An extreme reverse style crossbow, a reverse style crossbow or a reverse style crossbow with a single stirrup includes two cams, one string, two pulleys and two cables. The pulleys are rotatably retained on the limbs, adjacent the two cams. A dual stirrup crossbow includes two cams, one string, two pulleys and one cable. The two pulleys are rotatably retained on two cam axles. A second dual stirrup crossbow includes two cams, one string, two pulleys and two cables. The two pulleys are rotatably retained on two cam axles. A non-conventional crossbow includes two cams, one string, two pulleys and one cable. The two cams are rotatably retained on limbs between the proximal and distal ends thereof. The two pulleys are rotatably retained on two cam axles. A vertical bow includes two cams, one string, two pulleys and one cable. The two pulleys are rotatably retained on two cam axles.
