Led lighting systems for product display cases

A replacement light tube for replacing a fluorescent light tube includes a bulb portion extending between a first end and a second end, the bulb portion comprising a support structure, a plurality of white light emitting diodes (LEDs) and an elongate light-transmissive cover. The support structure has a first surface extending between the first end and the second end. The plurality of LEDs are supported by the first surface and arranged between the first end and the second end. The elongate light-transmissive cover extends between the first end and the second end and over the first surface of the support structure. A first end cap and a second end cap are disposed on the first end and the second end, respectively, each configured to fit with a socket for a fluorescent light tube. A power supply circuit is configured to provide power to the plurality of LEDs. The plurality of LEDs are arranged to emit light through the elongate light-transmissive cover and at least a portion of the power supply circuit is packaged inside at least one of the end caps.

The present invention provides a linear lighting apparatus with improved heat dissipation and a method for improving the heat dissipation in a linear lighting apparatus. The apparatus includes a plurality of light emitting diodes, a plurality of primary optical assemblies and an apparatus housing. The primary optical assemblies are each in contact with one of the plurality of light emitting diodes. The primary optical assemblies and a second optical assembly are configured to refract the light so as to create a linear light source emanating from the apparatus. The apparatus housing is configured to dissipate thermal energy from the light emitting diodes.

Linear lighting apparatus with improved heat dissipation

A presence and an absence of a person or object of interest (an "occupant") is detected, and an occupancy sensor signal is generated indicating an active state In which the presence of the occupant is detected, and an inactive state in which the absence of the occupant is delected. An ambient light sensor detects the ambient light level and generates an ambient light sensor signal indicating the ambient light level. Dimmable illumination is generated at a first level, based on the ambient light level, corresponding to the active state and a second level corresponding to the inactive state. A transition delay time between an onset of the inactive state and a transition between the first dimming level and the second dimming level may be controlled. The first dimming level, the second dimming level, and/or the transition delay time may be variably set or controlled locally or via a remote device.

Methods, apparatus and systems for providing occupancy-based variable lighting

A light fixture, using one or more solid state light emitting elements utilizes a diffusely reflect chamber to provide a virtual source of uniform output light, at an aperture or at a downstream optical processing element of the system. Systems disclosed herein also include a detector, which detects electromagnetic energy from the area intended to be illuminated by the system, of a wavelength absent from a spectrum of the combined light system output. A system controller is responsive to the signal from the detector. The controller typically may control one or more aspects of operation of the solid state light emitter(s), such as system ON-OFF state or system output intensity or color. Examples are also discussed that use the detection signal for other purposes, e.g. to capture data that may be carried on electromagnetic energy of the wavelength sensed by the detector.

Intelligent solid state lighting

An light source utilizes a parabolic reflector to collimate light emitted from at greater than a predetermined angle relative to the optical axis of an LED arranged at the focus of the reflector. An optional collimating lens is arranged to collimate light emitted at less than the predetermined angle. Both variations provide light in the form of a substantially collimated beam. The parabolic reflector is preferably extended along its focal point to form a linear parabolic section having a linear focal axis. A linear array of LEDs is arranged such that the linear focal axis passes through the area of light emission of each LED. The linear parabolic section may be provided with parabolic dish ends. Alternatively, the ends of the parabolic section may be left open for increased wide angle visibility.

Led light assembly

A power supply for use with an associated light bar assembly suitable for use at a warning light on an emergency vehicle that includes a generally planar printed circuit board having at least one discrete component mounted thereon. A power supply housing surrounds the printed circuit board and includes a generally planar heat sink plate. The heat sink plate is disposed in generally parallel relationship to the printed circuit board and is disposed in thermal conduction relationship with respect to a discrete component. A fastener extends through the discrete component to urge the printed circuit board and the generally planar member together. The discrete component may be a MOSFET.

Encapsulated power supply

An LED illumination module including an LED lamp with a plurality of light emitting dies on a substrate in combination with an optic having a single focus. The light emitting dies include a single center light emitting die centered on an optical axis and peripheral dies arranged around the center die. The illumination module includes a beam forming optic having a single focus arranged over the LED lamp with the focus on the optical axis of the center die. Light emitted from the center die is substantially collimated by the optic in a focused “spot” emission pattern. Light emitted from the peripheral dies results in a more dispersed or divergent “flood” emission pattern. The center die and peripheral dies are independently controlled and the power delivered to the dies can be varied independently to generate different light emission patterns using the same optic.
