Geophysical investigation of Al Jaww Plain, eastern Abu Dhabi: Implications for structure and evolution of the frontal fold belts of the Oman Mountains

TL;DR: In this paper, gravity and magnetic investigations were carried out in the Al Jaww Plain, an area of approximately 550 square km. The interpretation of these new data, including measurements of physical properties of rock samples from the area, were integrated with a new interpretation of an industry seismic reflection profile to provide constraints on the modelling of the subsurface structure and evolution of the sedimentary basin beneath Al-Jaww Plain.

Integrated gravity and seismic investigation over the jabal hafit structure: implications for basement configuration of the frontal fold-and-thrust belt of the northern oman mountains

TL;DR: A gravity survey was conducted over and around Jabal Hafit, located on the border between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman on the western edge of the northern Oman Mountains, as part of a study to investigate the subsurface structures and sedimentary sequences of the area.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low‐frequency passive seismic experiments in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: implications for hydrocarbon detection

TL;DR: In this paper, low-frequency passive seismic experiments utilizing arrays of 3-component broadband seismometers were conducted over two sites in the emirate of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Study of Ambient Noise over an Onshore Oil Field in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

TL;DR: In this paper, the characteristics of ambient noise over an onshore oil field in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, have been investigated using arrays of three-component broadband seismometers by means of spectral amplitude and array wavenumber analysis within a frequency range of 0.1-10 Hz.
