Journal ArticleDOI

Morphine pharmacokinetics and metabolism in humans. Enterohepatic cycling and relative contribution of metabolites to active opioid concentrations.

TL;DR: Comparison of oral with intravenous excretion curves showed that a greater part of morphine and metabolites were excreted during the slowly declining phase after the oral dose than the intravenous dose, which is highly suggestive of enterohepatic cycling.
Journal ArticleDOI

The 'Wise List' - A Comprehensive Concept to Select, Communicate and Achieve Adherence to Recommendations of Essential Drugs in Ambulatory Care in Stockholm

TL;DR: The acceptance of the 'Wise List' in terms of trust among physicians and among the public and increased adherence may be explained by clear criteria for drug recommendations, a comprehensive communication strategy, electronic access to recommendations, continuous medical education and involvement of professional networks and patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prevalence of pain in general practice.

TL;DR: The prevalence and diagnostic pattern of pain at the primary care level during one year in a group practice serving the patients of a geographically defined area with approximately 14,000 inhabitants is estimated.
Journal ArticleDOI

The metabolism and bioavailability of morphine in patients with severe liver cirrhosis.

TL;DR: Clinically important findings were a high oral bioavailability and a long elimination half-life of morphine and the metabolism of morphine is impaired significantly in patients with severe cirrhosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pharmacokinetics of codeine and its metabolites in Caucasian healthy volunteers: comparisons between extensive and poor hydroxylators of debrisoquine.

TL;DR: There was no difference between PM and EM in the AUC of C6G and NCG, nor in the partial clearances by N-demethylation and glucuronidation, Norcodeine, norcodeine (NC), NC-glucuronide (NCG), morphine, and normorphine (NM) were investigated after a single oral dose of 50 mg codeine phosphate.
