Abstract : A study is reported of the variations in organizational commitment and job satisfaction, as related to subsequent turnover in a sample of recently-employed psychiatric technician trainees. A longitudinal study was made across a 10 1/2 month period, with attitude measures collected at four points in time. For this sample, job satisfaction measures appeared better able to differentiate future stayers from leavers in the earliest phase of the study. With the passage of time, organizational commitment measures proved to be a better predictor of turnover, and job satisfaction failed to predict turnover. The findings are discussed in the light of other related studies, and possible explanations are examined. (Modified author abstract)

Organizational Commitment, Job Satisfaction and Turnover Among Psychiatric Technicians. Technical Report No. 16.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the influence of organizational culture and leadership style on employees’ job satisfaction, organizational commitment and work motivation in the educational sector in the state of Qatar.,The study was conducted using a questionnaire with a sample size of 364 employees in the educational sector in Qatar. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression, were employed to examine the relationships between the variables under investigation.,Significant positive relationships were observed between supportive culture and job satisfaction; supportive culture and organizational commitment; participative-supportive leadership and job satisfaction; directive leadership and job satisfaction; job satisfaction and work motivation; job satisfaction and organizational commitment.,This paper would help managers and policy-makers in the education sector to develop a better understanding of organizational culture and leadership styles and their influence on employee satisfaction, commitment and motivation.,The education sector is experiencing a fast growth in Qatar due to significant outlays by the government. This study is among the first in the country to understand the variables affecting employees’ performance in education sector.

Influence of organizational culture and leadership style on employee satisfaction, commitment and motivation in the educational sector in Qatar

The safety of construction workers is always a major concern at construction sites as the construction industry is inherently dangerous with many factors influencing worker safety. Several studies concluded that psychological factors such as workload, organizational relationships, mental stress, job security, and job satisfaction have significant effects on workers’ safety. However, research on psychological factors that are characteristic of different age groups have been limited. The aim of this study was to examine the impact of psychological factors on the perception of worker safety for two different age groups. After an extensive literature review, different psychological factors were identified, and a hypothetical research model was developed based on psychological factors that could affect workers’ perception of safety. A survey instrument was developed, and data were collected from seven different construction sites in Pakistan. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to test the hypothetical model for both age groups. The results revealed that workload and job satisfaction are significantly dominant factors on workers’ perception of safety in older workers, whereas organizational relationships, mental stress, and job security are dominant factors for younger workers at construction sites.

Workers’ Age and the Impact of Psychological Factors on the Perception of Safety at Construction Sites

It is widely agreed that the impact of human resource management (HRM) practices can create comparative advantage for the organizational performance when organizational commitment matters. On the contrary, turnover has become a trend and it is at rise in the current working environment. The main intention of this study is to demonstrate a relationship between HRM practices and organizational commitment and its impact on turnover intention. Data of 75 employees from several different industries were collected throughout Klang Valley in Malaysia. The outcome reflects a correlation among Performance Appraisal and Training and Development (HRM practices) with organizational commitment which in turn contributed an inverse relationship with employee turnover intention. The greater commitment developed among employees will improve the organizational effectiveness through maintained skilled and experienced employees thus reducing turnover intentions. Therefore, this study dedicates to the knowledge on the impact of HRM practices on organizational commitment and turnover intention. The data results can serve as a reference or guideline when conducting relevant studies in the future.

Performance Appraisal and Training and Development of Human Resource Management Practices (HRM) on Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intention

The purpose of this paper is to examine the role Job satisfaction on Organizational commitments. In this study, Data collected from 280 Iranian employees. The present study employs a questionnaire survey approach to collect data for testing the research hypotheses. Relevant statistical analytical techniques including regression for analysis was then used. The results indicate that all three factors of Job satisfaction (Promotions‚ Personal relationships‚ and Favorable conditions of work) have positive and significant effects on Organizational commitments. The main contribution of the paper is to provide empirical evidence about the impact of Job satisfaction on Organizational commitments. Also the findings of the study are important for both practitioners and academics.

Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction

The presented research aimed to get QFD model to improve service quality using customersneeds priorities in terms of case study in 4 star hotel of Zanjan. In the research customerssatisfaction of the services and importance degree of each need was investigated using survey method. Information was collected from two different community and samples. The first statistical community were the customers, employees and managers of Zanjans grand hotel that whom were needs-assessed to determine the factors affecting customer satisfaction. After identifying the factors, one questionnaire was offered to the customers to rank their satisfaction of services received from the hotel. According to the statistical procedures used in the third chapter, selected sample of clients were 150. Second statistical community or better said, decision team consisted of 4 managers and senior employees of the hotel whose opinions were applied when completing the quality house. The results shows that from the view point of customers, offering qualified food, existence of sauna and swimming pool, friendly behavior and attitude of personnel and their proper appearance are more important.

Determining customer needs priorities for improving service quality using qfd

Meetings are one of the important reasons of time wastage among the managers. Although the meetings are costly and time consuming, without them most of the organizations cannot survive. Managers need some methods to improve the quality of their meetings and efficiently use them to progress the organization. In this paper a 5-part pattern has been proposed that helps managers to improve the quality of their meetings and to apply effective management during the meetings. These are as follows:

Management and Improvement of Meetings' Quality in Business Organizations

This study examines the role of Human Resource practices on Firm Performance in Iran. This study uses regression analysis to test the hypotheses. The research uses a sample of 65 firms surveyed in Qazvin, Iran. The findings suggested that Training, Compensation, Performance appraisal and Participation are positively related the firms' performance. Implications of the findings, potential limitations of the study and directions for future research were further discussed.
