Movements and Habitat Interactions of White-tailed Deer: Implications for Chronic Wasting Disease Management
TL;DR: A more spatially-targeted effort to reduce density, by removal of social groups, in areas where chronic wasting disease is present may provide better efficacy in reducing potential for disease transmission.
Journal ArticleDOI
Survival of White-tailed Deer in Wisconsin's Chronic Wasting Disease Zone
TL;DR: It is found that there is no evidence that CWD was substantially increasing mortality rates during the duration of the study from 2003 to 2007, though the disease is relatively new to this area and can serve as a baseline by which to compare future mortality rates in this area to assess the virulence of CWD over time.
