A Break in the Clouds: Towards a Cloud Definition

The cloud computing platform gives people the opportunity for sharing resources, services and information among the people of the whole world. In private cloud system, information is shared among the persons who are in that cloud. For this, security or personal information hiding process hampers. In this paper we have proposed new security architecture for cloud computing platform. This ensures secure communication system and hiding information from others. AES based file encryption system and asynchronous key system for exchanging information or data is included in this model. This structure can be easily applied with main cloud computing features, e.g. PaaS, SaaS and IaaS. This model also includes onetime password system for user authentication process. Our work mainly deals with the security system of the whole cloud computing platform.

A Newer User Authentication, File encryption and Distributed Server Based Cloud Computing security architecture

Cloud computing is a new paradigm which enables users to reduce their costs and is advantageous to both the serving and served organizations. However, security issue is a major concern in the adoption of cloud computing. The most effective way of protecting cloud computing services, resources and users is access control. This paper intends to provide a trust-based access control mechanism for cloud computing considering its multi-domain aspects. Firstly, trust is introduced into cloud computing environment and trust relationships between users and cloud platform are built. It also analyzes the difference between intra-domain trust and inter-domain trust. Furthermore, a role-based access control framework combined with trust degree in multi-domain is given from this paper. Access control in local domain directly applies RBAC model combined with trust degree, whereas in multi-domain it contains the conception of role translation. The simulation results show that the proposed method is more suitable to cloud environment and definitely can improve the reliability and validity of the system.

Trust Based Access Control Policy in Multi-domain of Cloud Computing

This study investigates the readiness and basis for adoption of cloud computing for higher education in the United Arab Emirates using the Theory of Acceptance Model [1] and structured equation modeling. After the concept of cloud computing was introduced through an educational technology course, empirical data were derived from an online questionnaire with 239 pre-service teachers and undergraduate students. Hypotheses about users’ acceptance and adoption of cloud computing were tested. The findings revealed that perceived ease of use affected the intention to use the technology in the future, and intention to use was demonstrated in the teachers’ actual use. The study’s outcomes provide educational institutions and cloud service providers a better understanding of cloud computing adoption issues. It also supports the foundation for upcoming research focused at improving our awareness of technology adoption and continued-use factors for innovation in instructional technologies. The implications are discussed in the context of education.
