Role of Repeated Conformational Transitions in Substrate Binding of Adenylate Kinase

TL;DR: It is shown that the repeated conformational transitions of adenylate kinase are essential for the relaxation of incorrectly bound substrates into the catalytically competent conformation by combining all-atom and coarse-grained molecular simulations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Root Hair Apex is the Key Site for Symplastic Delivery of Graphene into Plants.

TL;DR: Investigation of uptake kinetics, translocation pathway, and key internalization process of graphene in wheat by applying three specific hydroponic cultivation methods indicated that graphene could enter the root of wheat and further translocate to the shoot with a low delivery rate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Frustration and the Kinetic Repartitioning Mechanism of Substrate Inhibition in Enzyme Catalysis

TL;DR: The simulation results directly demonstrate that substrate inhibition arises from the rate-limiting product-release step, instead of the steps for populating the catalytically competent complex as often suggested in previous works, and propose that the above molecular mechanism of substrate inhibition may be relevant to other multisubstrate enzymes in which product release is the bottleneck step.
