A mobility device platform allowing for secure mobile computing is provided. In an illustrative implementation, an exemplary mobility device platform comprises a mobility device operable to communicate with at least one computing environment through a communications interface and wherein the mobility device is operable to process and store secure web services, a communications network operable to communicate data and computing applications using web services, and a mobility device management server operable to generate, process, store, communicate and encrypt web services to the mobility device. Further, the mobility device management server is operable to perform one or more mobility device management functions to provide encryption keys to cooperating mobility devices and to authenticate and verify cooperating mobility devices requesting web services from the mobility device management server. The mobility device management server and mobility device may further operate to perform authentication and verification using user identification and password information.

The method includes identifying first and second service components for inclusion in the Web service, which includes locating available services using service detectors that use differing search techniques and displaying the located services to the user to allow the user to make a selection to identify the first and second service components. The method continues with generating a description or contract for the Web service defining service behavior including invoking rules. A transport structure is then created for accessing the new Web service such as a transmission envelope. The Web service is advertised as being available on the communications network including registering the Web service with a services registry linked to the communications network.

A method comprises providing an interface permitting a first user to control activation of a mobile information channel through which the first user can share access to content with a plurality of additional users, activating the mobile information channel responsive to input received from the first user via the interface, inserting content provided by the first user into the mobile information channel, receiving additional content relating to the mobile information channel from one or more of said additional users via one or more respective mobile devices associated with at least one wireless network, inserting at least a portion of the additional content into the mobile information channel, and integrating into the mobile information channel information associated with at least one wireless networking functionality of said at least one wireless network.

Method, apparatus and system for management of information content for enhanced accessibility over wireless communication networks

Smart Mobile devices and web services are becoming very popular. Mobile devices are physically constrained devices; low processor speed, limited memory, limited battery, and slow intermit wireless connection. This implies to take in consideration these factors when implementing web services for mobile devices. In this paper, we evaluate the RESTful web service for mobile devices against conventional SOAP web services. The experimental results show that RESTful web services outperform conventional SOAP web services. A recommendation to use RESTful web services on mobile devices has been concluded from experimental result.

Performance Evaluation of RESTful Web Services for Mobile Devices

Mobile devices and server applications often run on different platforms, which can make integration problematic. Web services might offer a solution, but they typically include XML protocols that are too "heavy" for mobile devices. In this article, we describe agent-based mobile services framework. It uses wireless portal networks and eliminates XML processing on mobile clients. It also offers dynamic service selection and rapid application development and deployment for Web service providers

Mobile Web services: a new agent-based framework

The goal of the paper is to propose a way to make Web services more convenient and efficient to use. We develop an architecture that integrates mobile agents with Web services to achieve the goal. We first survey the key technologies, which are adopted in the paper. Next, we introduce our mobile Web service framework and describe how we take advantage of the location information in the Web service. Finally, we give an example to illustrate a typical scenario in which a mobile user receives Web services from our proposed platform.
