Journal ArticleDOI

Polylactide/nano‐ and micro‐scale silica composite films. II. Melting behavior and cold crystallization

TL;DR: In this article, the nonisothermal crystallization kinetics of polylactide (PLA)/silica composites are analyzed by modified Avrami model, Ozawa model, and Liu-Mo models.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation of TiO2 nanoparticles by supercritical carbon dioxide

TL;DR: A nano-sized titanium dioxide TiO2 powder was successfully prepared from its precursor titanium (IV) isopropoxide (TTIP) by a system comprising of supercritical fluids microemulsion and supercritical-drying method, in which TTIP reacted in reversed micelles formed by surfactant Zonyl FSJ employing a supercritical carbon dioxide system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nonisothermal crystallization of high density polyethylene and nanoscale calcium carbonate composites

TL;DR: In this article, a nonisothermal crystallization of high density polyethylene (HDPE)/maleic anhydride-modified HDPE(manPE)/nanoscale calcium carbonate (CaCO3) nanocomposite was investigated by means of wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD), polarized optical microscopy (POM), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
Journal ArticleDOI

Polylactide/nano and microscale silica composite films. I. Preparation and characterization

TL;DR: In this paper, two methods: blending nanoscale colloidal silica sol and sol-gel fillers were used to increase tensile strength, Young's modulus, thermal stability, and hydrolysis resistance with increasing silica content.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystallization kinetics and nucleation parameters of Nylon 6 and poly(ethylene-co-glycidyl methacrylate) blend

TL;DR: In this paper, a twin-screw extruder was used to produce a mixture of Nylon 6 and poly(ethylene-co-glycidyl methacrylate) (PEGMA).
