TL;DR: In this article, an amphoteric surfactant synthesis method and a product thereof are presented. The synthesis method comprises the following steps: (1) dissolving maleic anhydride into lower alcohols; (2) adding fatty amine with an equal equivalence, distilling the mixture to evaporate excess lower alcohol, and carrying out addition reactions; and adding a little amount of deionized water, and slowly dropwise adding a sodium hydroxide solution until the system is completely transparent.

TL;DR: In this paper, a modification method for an ampholytic surfactant and a product of the modification method is described. And the deoiling effect of the modified surfactants is over OP-10; and raw material sources are abundant, the price is low, the production process is simple, and product performance is excellent.
