Sustainable performance is expected to become a major factor when examining the feasibility of a construction project in terms of its life cycle performance. The study on which this paper is based developed a simulation model, using system dynamics methodology, to assess the sustainable performance of projects. Three major factors are used to examine project sustainable performance (PSP): the sustainability of economic development (E), the sustainability of social development (S), and the sustainability of environmental development (En). Sustainable development ability (SDA) was used as a prototype to evaluate the case. This paper explains and demonstrates the procedures used to develop the model and finally offers an approach for assessing the feasibility of a construction project in terms of its sustainable performance.

Application of system dynamics for assessment of sustainable performance of construction projects

Urban transport infrastructures (TIs) play a central role in an urban society that faces more and more disasters. TIs, part of critical infrastructures (CIs), are highly correlated with urban disaster management in terms of their resilience when cities are facing a crisis or disaster. According to many studies, indicator assessment has been frequently used for the resilience management of CIs in recent decades. Defining and characterizing indicators can be useful for disaster managers as it could help monitor and improve the capacities and performance of TIs. The purpose of this paper, therefore, is (1) to identify and summarize the existing indicators of TIs resilience from the currently available literature, and (2) to discuss the possible future studies of the resilience indicator of TIs. The first results indicated that there are some barriers to identify indicators following the common search method through keywords. Additionally, the indicators found are mainly related to technical information, the disruption stage, and internal TIs. Finally, due to the complexity of indicator assessment, sub-indicators and indicator spatialization are widely used in the resilience assessment of urban TIs studies.

Resilience Indicator of Urban Transport Infrastructure: A Review on Current Approaches

In order to compute the network scale of urban rail transit, the paper proposed a mutualist model describing the network scale, through investigating the main influencing factor of network scale-the population and the relationship between population and network. The equilibrium point of different equations was given practical meaning.calibrating the key physical quantities, the nonlinear differential equations have been solved by using Runge–Kutta. Applying the model to predict the population and network scale in main city in Hefei in 2020 and long future, compared with the traditional travel demand model and network service coverage model. The result are basically accordant, so the new model is feasible.The theory model provides a new means of quantitative analysis method for urban rail transit network planning, So it has important theoretical and practical significance.
