Journal ArticleDOI
HPMA-RGD hydrogels seeded with mesenchymal stem cells improve functional outcome in chronic spinal cord injury.
Aleš Hejčl,Aleš Hejčl,Jiří Šedý,Jiří Šedý,Miroslava Kapcalova,Miroslava Kapcalova,David Arboleda Toro,David Arboleda Toro,Takashi Amemori,Takashi Amemori,Petr Lesný,Petr Lesný,Katarina Likavčanová-Mašínová,Katarina Likavčanová-Mašínová,Eva Krumbholcová,Eva Krumbholcová,Martin Přádný,Martin Přádný,Jiří Michálek,Jiří Michálek,Martin Burian,Milan Hájek,Pavla Jendelova,Pavla Jendelova,Eva Syková,Eva Syková +25 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that 5 weeks after injury, HPMA-RGD hydrogels seeded with MSCs can successfully bridge a spinal cord cavity and provide a scaffold for tissue regeneration and lead to functional improvement even in chronic SCI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanofibers prepared by needleless electrospinning technology as scaffolds for wound healing
Michal Dubský,Šárka Kubinová,Jakub Sirc,Luděk Voska,Robert Zajicek,Alena Zajicova,Petr Lesný,Alexandra Jirkovská,Jiří Michálek,Jiří Michálek,Marcela Munzarova,Vladimír Holáň,Eva Syková,Eva Syková +13 more
TL;DR: The results show that gelatin nanofibers produced by needleless technology accelerate wound healing and may be suitable as a scaffold for cell transfer and skin regeneration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biocompatible hydrogels in spinal cord injury repair.
TL;DR: Hydrogels are biocompatible implants used in spinal cord injury repair and can create a permissive environment and bridge the lesion cavities by providing a scaffold for the regeneration of neurons and their axons, glia and other tissue elements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morphological characterization of nanofibers: methods and application in practice
Jakub Sirc,Radka Hobzova,Nina Yu. Kostina,Marcela Munzarova,Martina Juklickova,Miloslav Lhotka,Šárka Kubinová,Alena Zajicova,Jiří Michálek +8 more
TL;DR: The methods applicable for morphological characterization of nanofibers and supplement it by the results of the authors' research are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Polymer hydrogels usable for nervous tissue repair.
Petr Lesný,Petr Lesný,J. De Croos,J. De Croos,Martin Přádný,Jiří Vacík,Jiří Michálek,S. Woerly,Eva Syková,Eva Syková +9 more
TL;DR: A massive ingrowth of connective tissue elements was found in the pHPMA hydrogels and these changes were accompanied by corresponding changes in the extracellular space volume fraction and tortuosity of the hydrogel.
