Journal ArticleDOI

Nano-scale pore structure and fractal dimension of organic-rich Wufeng-Longmaxi shale from Jiaoshiba area, Sichuan Basin: Investigations using FE-SEM, gas adsorption and helium pycnometry

TL;DR: In this article, the pore structure and fractal dimension of the pores in O3w-S1l shale formation in the Jiaoshiba area were investigated using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM).
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental investigations on the geometry and connectivity of pore space in organic-rich Wufeng and Longmaxi shales

TL;DR: In this article, the nano-scale pore systems of organic-rich shale reservoirs were investigated from Upper Ordovician Wufeng and Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formations in southeast Sichuan Basin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Applying SANS technique to characterize nano-scale pore structure of Longmaxi shale, Sichuan Basin (China)

TL;DR: In this paper, small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) technique was applied on four Longmaxi shale samples (JY-01 to -04) with a range of different lithology.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pore characterization and methane sorption capacity of over-mature organic-rich Wufeng and Longmaxi shales in the southeast Sichuan Basin, China

TL;DR: In this article, a combination of low-pressure gas adsorption (N2 and CO2), mercury injection porosimetry (MIP) and high-pressure CH4 adaption was used to investigate the pore characteristics and methane sorption capacity of the over-mature shales, and discuss the main controlling factors for methane gas in pore spaces.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geochemical characteristics and origin of natural gas from Wufeng-Longmaxi shales of the Fuling gas field, Sichuan Basin (China)

TL;DR: Based on molecular and stable carbon isotopic composition of a total of 24 gas samples from five shale gas wells in the Fuling field, this paper analyzed the geochemical characteristics and gas origin.
