Hypospadias: An epidemiological study in Latin America

TL;DR: Epidemiological variables in relation to hypospadias were analyzed in a case-control study of a liveborn population from six Latin American countries and low mean birth weight, twinning, vaginal bleeding, and drug exposure during the 1st trimester (particularly sex hormones) were found to be risk factors.

Syndactyly: Frequency of specific types

TL;DR: Syndactyly without other combined limb anomalies, Poland complex, or amniotic bands, was diagnosed in 174 of 599, 109 consecutive newborn infants, and the high frequency of affected first degree relatives observed suggests that the genetic forms of syndactYly may be more common than might be suspected from the small number of pedigrees in the literature.
