Yearly rupture or dissection rates for thoracic aortic aneurysms: simple prediction based on size.
Ryan R. Davies,Lee J. Goldstein,Michael A. Coady,Shawn L. Tittle,John A. Rizzo,Gary S. Kopf,John A. Elefteriades +6 more
TL;DR: This analysis strongly supports careful radiologic follow-up and elective, preemptive surgical intervention for the otherwise lethal condition of large thoracic aortic aneurysm.
Journal ArticleDOI
What is the appropriate size criterion for resection of thoracic aortic aneurysms
Michael A. Coady,John A. Rizzo,Graeme L. Hammond,Divakar Mandapati,Umer Darr,Gary S. Kopf,John A. Elefteriades +6 more
TL;DR: Analysis of data on 230 patients with thoracic aortic aneurysms treated at Yale University School of Medicine from 1985 to 1996 revealed that size larger than 6.0 cm increased the probability of acute dissection or rupture, and a criterion lower than the median is appropriate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Insurer and out‐of‐pocket costs of osteoarthritis in the US: Evidence from national survey data
TL;DR: The health care cost burden associated with OA is quite large for all groups examined and is disproportionately higher for women, although insurers bear the brunt of treatment costs for OA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Familial Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms and Dissections—Incidence, Modes of Inheritance, and Phenotypic Patterns
Gonzalo Albornoz,Michael A. Coady,Michele Roberts,Ryan R. Davies,Maryann Tranquilli,John A. Rizzo,John A. Elefteriades +6 more
TL;DR: TAAs are frequently familial diseases, exemplifying a more aggressive clinical entity and Screening of first-order relatives of probands with TAA is essential.
Journal ArticleDOI

Alexander N. Ortega,Hai Fang,Victor H. Perez,John A. Rizzo,Olivia Carter-Pokras,Steven P. Wallace,Lillian Gelberg +6 more
