TL;DR: In this paper, a drop is hanging on the ceiling as one comes out of the shower, and the size of the drop is governed by the balance between the pull of gravity and the upward pull of surface tension, which is proportional to the product of the surface tension and the circumference.
Abstract: A drop is hanging on the ceiling as one comes out of the shower. The size of the drop is governed by the balance between the pull of gravity -- which is proportional to the density, the acceleration of gravity, and the cube of the radius -- and the upward pull of surface tension, which is proportional to the product of the surface tension and the circumference. For the drop to be supported it must not exceed a critical size.
