Ethnic Differences in Social and Political Participation: A Comparison of Some Anglo and Mexican Americans
TL;DR: For example, the authors found that Mexican American political participation was lower than that of white Americans, but social, economic, and other structural variables were not held constant, and that lower rates of voluntary association memberships among Mexican Americans in comparison with Anglos are a product of their lower SES rather than of their ethnicity.
