Journal ArticleDOI

Holes in the tundra: Invasive earthworms alter soil structure and moisture in tundra soils.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors used three-dimensional (3-D) X-ray images of soil cores to assess how earthworms (Aporrectodea sp. and Lumbricus sp.) affect soil structure and macropore networks in an outdoor mesocosm experiment that lasted four summers.

Soil structure changes of engineered soils in bioretention cell

TL;DR: In this paper , the temporal changes of soil structure of engineered soils in typical bioretention beds were assessed by conducting field scale and laboratory experiments, and the aim is to elucidate changes in bioreention cell performance by studying the structural changes of soils at the microscale by invasive and non-invasive methods.

Impacts of soil management and climate on saturated 1 and near-saturated hydraulic conductivity: analyses of 2 the Open Tension-disk Infiltrometer Meta-database 3

TL;DR: In this paper , saturated and near-saturated soil hydraulic conductivities K h (mm.h) were investigated. And they were shown to be near-optimal for some applications.
