A propeller governor for controlling blade pitch of a variable pitch propeller has a hydraulic control circuit coupled to the propeller to change blade pitch in response to hydraulic pressure. The hydraulic control circuit has a first pressure path configured to adjust blade pitch within a first range of blade pitch, and a second, different pressure path configured to adjust blade pitch within a second range of blade pitch. An electrohydraulic servo valve of the governor is configured to adjust hydraulic pressure in the first pressure path to adjust blade pitch within the first range and to adjust hydraulic pressure in the second pressure path to adjust blade pitch within the second range.

Electrohydraulic propeller governor

A propeller system includes a propeller hub which supports a multiple of propeller blades. A tailshaft extends from a propeller hub portion of the propeller hub along an axis of rotation with a propeller pitch change yoke mounted within the propeller hub for movement along an axis of rotation to change a pitch of the multiple of propeller blades, the propeller pitch change yoke in sliding engagement with the tailshaft.

Integrated actuator for a propeller system

An hydraulic actuation control module is provided for installation in a pitch change actuator of a propeller assembly. The module comprises a flow metering valve arranged to supply hydraulic fluid flow and pressure to an actuator and an electronic control unit arranged to control the flow metering valve. The flow metering valve is arranged to meter hydraulic fluid flow and pressure to increase and decrease pitch chambers of the pitch change actuator, in accordance with the control of the electronic control unit. The flow metering valve is arranged to receive an hydraulic fluid supply from an entity relative to which the propeller assembly rotates such as an engine driving the propeller assembly or aircraft on which the propeller assembly is installed. A propeller assembly comprising the hydraulic actuation control module is also disclosed, together with a method of installing the module within a propeller assembly.

Load sharing control system for ship power supply under DC electric power system

An electronic self-powered propeller governor driven off the aircraft engine includes a drive shaft which drives a hydraulic pump to produce pressurized oil to move a hydraulically controlled piston connected to the propeller blade for changing the blade pitch. A hydraulic control valve which controls the position of the piston includes a spool which is positioned within the drive shaft and supplies pressure to the piston for changing the pitch of the propeller blade. The drive shaft also drives an AC generator producing an electrical RPM signal which is supplied to a linear control circuit. A manually operated RPM control produces an electrical signal supplied to said linear control circuit which is compared with the RPM signal produced by the generator and in turn the linear control circuit signals an actuator. Also contained within the governor is a linear variable force electrical actuator which is connected to the control valve spool acting against a spring which positions the control valve spool to reposition the propeller blade and change the RPM to conform with the signal produced by the manual RPM control.
