Alumina catalyst stable at high temperatures

TL;DR: In this article, an alumina catalyst is formed by contacting a substrate with an alkali aluminate solution for a period of time sufficient to form an adherent film of hydrated alumina on the substrate, separating the substrate with the adherent film from the solution, and then heating the substrate and alumina film under calcining conditions until an desired porosity and surface area is formed.

Disproportionation of alkyl aromatics with decationized mordenite containing a sulfided metal

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the disproportionation of toluene to benzene and C 8 aromatics in the presence of hydrogen mordenite catalysts with a sufficient SiO 2 : Al 2 O 3 mole ratio.

Internal combustion engine system for exhaust emissions control utilizing an acoustic catalytic muffler

TL;DR: The combination of an internal combustion engine having means for providing additional air adjacent the exhaust valves thereof, valve means for back pressure control in the exhaust system, and an acoustic catalytic muffler having compounds capable of reducing lead products of combustion in exhaust gases prior to their contact with a combination of oxidation catalysts was proposed in this paper.

Filter for internal combustion exhaust gases

TL;DR: In this article, a smoke filter adapted to receive a stream of hot engine exhaust gas and to remove particulate carbon particles therefrom is presented, where hot exhaust gas stream is passed progressively across catalytic beds which are spaced slightly apart within a closed casing.
