Re-Examining an Old Question: Does the IRR Method Implicitly Assume a Reinvestment Rate?

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the IRR method implicitly assumes a reinvestment rate, and they make two recommendations that finance textbooks should disavow any implicit reinvestment-rate assumption in the internal rate of return.
