Augmented reality (AR) immersion enables virtual objects and real environments to coexist and encourage experimentation with phenomena that are not possible in the real world. Augmented reality is generating new opportunities for the development of ubiquity within educational environments. The objective of this study was to analyze the impact that the integration of ubiquitous game approaches with augmented reality has on learning. A quasi-experimental study was carried out with 91 sixth-grade primary school students; the learning scenario was designed and the augmented reality application “WallaMe” was selected for use in five sessions of a didactic unit in Art Education. Through pretest and posttest procedures, academic performance and information search skills were evaluated, and, a Likert scale analyzed the motivation and collaboration variables among the students. The results showed that the experimental group obtained statistically significant improvements in the academic performance of the subject, motivation, in the search for, and analysis of, information, level of fun and collaboration. The conclusion is that the dynamic activities managed in the intervention, which made use of augmented reality and localization, benefit teaching-learning processes, and encourage innovation and improvement through educational technology.

Aplicación del juego ubicuo con realidad aumentada en Educación Primaria

Jerome (Jerry) S. Bruner’s death at the age of 100 left a huge human and intellectual void, especially for those who had been in regular contact with him. Jerry has been an inspiration, not only due to his enormous intellect but also to his vitality and warm mentoring of so many people. This article aims to continue to honour the richness of his work, but also to cultivate possibilities for the new generations. Based on a personal elaboration of Bruner’s ideas, this article is a manifesto for the future of education that cannot be but a manifesto of cultural psychology of education. Here it has been summarized in five main stances.

Proyecto game to learn: aprendizaje basado en juegos para potenciar las inteligencias lógico- matemática, naturalista y lingüística en educación primaria game to learn project: game-based learning to strengther logical-mathematical, naturalist and linguistic intelligences in primary school

The present study is a bibliographic review carried out in Spain with articles in Spanish within the educational field on videogames, and focused in their benefits. The lapse of time analyzed covers the period between 2013 and 2017, both included. The benefits found in this research include different perspectives: improving digital literacy, new educational proposals, its use in different groups, such as students with educational special needs, development of different skills... Many of the articles consider motivation as an important advantage of videogames use, also highlighting the stimulation of multiple intelligences and creativity. The commercial videogames most cited in the consulted bibliography are those belonging to the Assasin’s Creed saga, the multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft and the creative game Minecraft, a sandbox with almost infinite possibilities.

Beneficios educativos y videojuegos: revisión de la literatura española

En la introduccion de este trabajo se plantea el caracter universal del juego infantil y su relacion con las practicas culturales locales, con referencias a las dos grandes teorias contemporaneas del desarrollo psicologico: Piaget y Vygostky. A continuacion se describen los diferentes tipos de juego que se dan en la infancia y la importancia que atribuyeron al juego de ficcion los estudios de intervencion de la segunda mitad del siglo XX. La relacion entre el juego y la cultura, tanto en los juegos de reglas como en los de ficcion, muestra la relevancia de esta en la comprension e interpretacion de la actividad ludica infantil. Finalmente siguiendo el analisis de Bruner sobre la relacion entre educacion, epistemologia y juego, se plantea la necesidad de no reducir la educacion a la transmision de los contenidos del conocimiento, y se aboga por estimular a los ninos a explorar el propio proceso de conocer y de comprender, a iniciarse como epistemologos dirigiendo su atencion no solo al producto de conocer sino al proceso de conocer. Sus actitudes en el juego nos deben convencer de que esto es posible.

El juego es un derecho y una necesidad de la infancia

Introducion
Realizamos el presente estudio, con ninos y ninas de 2o, 4o y 6o de educacion 
primaria para saber como y que pueden aprender los ninos mientras se enfrentan con un nuevo videojuego.
Metodo
Organizamos con ninos de 2o, 4o y 6o de primaria la posibilidad de jugar un 
videojuego recien salido al mercado. Formamos grupos pequenos de 4 jugadores cada uno, 2 ninos y 2 ninas, y les ofrecimos una consola y solo 2 controles para jugar. Con este procedimiento queriamos observar y analizar las diferencias entre jugadores de diferentes edades y las posibles diferencias de genero. El proceso de aprendizaje y uso del videojuego se extendio a lo largo de 11 semanas.
Resultado.
Los resultados muestran la capacidad de aprendizaje de los jugadores de todas las edades sin instruccion especifica de los adultos. Tambien la coordinacion y la cooperacion en cada uno de los grupos para lograr tal aprendizaje y, con el, poder utilizar el videojuego. Destacan tanto la autonomia en el proceso de aprender, como la capacidad para resolver en el grupo los diferentes tipos de conflictos surgidos a lo largo del juego, en su iniciacion o en el curso del aprendizaje y en su regulacion, asi como la capacidad para crear el significado del mundo virtual del juego, de los personajes o de acciones concretas.

Relevance of videogames in the learning and development of young children

A most relevant contribution of Jerome Bruner to Motor Development research has been to highlight its relevance to child development and avoiding considering it as an epiphenomenon accompanying other evolutionary events of greater importance, such as cognitive, emotional or language development. Bruner’s ideas in the era of embodied cognition continue to be very interesting and show that they were very advanced for his time. His ideas present a child embedded in the context of action, a thinking body that play and explore his environment; a child that exercise his modular routines for the attainment of competence in his environment; a child that has a true impulse to apply and vary his actions to solve motor problems; a child who learns with his whole body, perceives with his whole body and communicates with the adult with his whole body. His cognition is embodied and extended to the others and to the environment. The child´s actions are his knowledge, and his knowledge is in his actions. The child plays and explores his surroundings in true perception- action cycles, where perception influences action and action influences perception. Bruner’s ideas of skill development were well beyond of his time, new and provocative. Forty years later, many of these ideas continue to be relevant today for many researchers.

Motor Skills, Motor Competence and Children: Bruner’s Ideas in the Era of Embodiment Cognition and Action

El proposito del presente trabajo consiste en analizar los juegos de reglas, partiendo de su papel como transmisores de conocimiento sobre el mundo social (valores, creencias, normas, roles, etc.), a partir del planteamiento piagetiano de la comprension de las reglas de los juegos por los ninos. Se aborda como se produce la evolucion del conocimiento practico y teorico de las reglas y se incorpora el estudio sobre el desarrollo del conocimiento del significado de los juegos, de sus reglas y acciones. Se utiliza un enfoque transcultural que nos permita comprender las diferencias entre el desarrollo de la regla a traves de un juego deportivo como el hockey hierba en Espana y un juego tradicional del pueblo indigena mapuche de Chile, el palin o chueca.
