A split collar mountable turbine is assembled in two separate halves and circumferentially attachable around existing structures. Top and bottom attachment rings each comprise first and second arcuate elements adapted to interconnect circumferentially about an axis to form two rings formed in spaced relation. A fan blade housing ring adapted to interface into complimentary slots within the top and bottom rings is received in complimentary slots and moves in tracks located in the top and bottom rings by magnetic levitation. The turbine further includes two pair of off-axis electrical generators each having rotating gears driven by rotation of said fan blade housing for producing electricity. A series of set screws and set guides affixed to the top and bottom rings can be adjusted to engage and be supported by a structure that is collared in the open center of the cylindrical wind turbine.

A vertical axis wind turbine for attaching to a utility pole includes a plurality of support arms, a housing, a generator and a plurality of blades. The support arms attach to the utility pole. The housing is coupled between the arms. The housing includes an outer wall defining a space within the housing. The housing rotates on a vertical axis of rotation and with respect to the arms. The generator is stationed within the space. The generator generates an electric current in response to a rotation of the housing. The plurality of blades coupled to an external surface of the outer wall, one of the blades extends in a vertical direction.

Utility pole mountable vertical axis wind turbine

A cellular communication tower is adapted to support a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) that includes a generator mechanism. The signal and power cable for the communication antennas run through the central axis or bore of the generator. The blades of the VAWT are disposed so as to avoid interferences with communication signals. The tower preferably deploys an open truss construction to avoid the impact of periodic pressure pulse as the turning blades shift out of alignment from shading the tower. Thus, with an open truss tower the turbine blades can be a larger size and still not cause such pressure pulses.

Antenna mounted wind power generator

A vertical axis wind turbine electrical energy generating system comprising a tower, a split vertical sleeve to which is affixed a wind vane assembly with an internal electrical generator, an electric controller and, in the preferred embodiment, a battery assembly for local storage of the generated electricity. The split sleeve allows the wind turbine assembly to be easily placed on existing or new towers or poles. The electricity generated can be fed to the electrical grid or remotely stored to power roadway or other public lighting.

The system includes a power pole electricity system supported by a plurality of ground-based upright support members. The electricity system is electrically connected to the utility grid. The support members include at least one vertical rotor shaft portion. The rotor shaft portion has an outer surface and a vertical axis of rotation. A vertical axis wind turbine is rotatably attached to the rotor shaft portion so that the wind turbine rotates freely around the outer surface of the rotor shaft portion. A power takeoff is coupled to the wind turbine for driving a generator electrically connected to the utility grid when exposed to an atmospheric wind condition.
