As various activities related to entertainment, business, shopping, and conventions are done increasingly indoors, the demand for indoor spatial information and indoor environmental data is growing. Unlike the case of outdoor environments, obtaining spatial information in indoor environments is difficult. Given the absence of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) signals, various technologies for indoor positioning, mapping and modeling have been proposed. Related business models for indoor space services, safety, convenience, facility management, and disaster response, moreover, have been suggested. An autonomous scanning system for collection of indoor spatial and environmental data is proposed in this paper. The proposed system can be utilized to collect spatial dimensions suitable for extraction of a two-dimensional indoor drawing and obtainment of spatial imaging as well as indoor environmental data on temperature, humidity and particulate matter. For these operations, the system has two modes, manual and autonomous. The main function of the systems is autonomous mode, and the manual mode is implemented additionally. It can be applied in facilities without infrastructure for indoor data collection, such as for routine indoor data collection purposes, and it can also be used for immediate indoor data collection in cases of emergency (e.g., accidents, disasters).

Autonomous Indoor Scanning System Collecting Spatial and Environmental Data for Efficient Indoor Monitoring and Control

This paper aims to describe a case study of parametric interior design based on BIM (Building Information Modeling). As the practical use of BIM-based design grows, its influence expands into the field of interior architecture design. BIM makes possible to check various design plan, reach decision making in an effective way, and change design plan in an efficient method. Therefore, BIM is also promising field in interior architecture design. However, compared to other fields in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, there have been less research and projects on BIM in the field of interior architecture. For increasing the feasibility of adapting BIM in interior architecture design, this paper describes a case study-projecting images for designing interior panels using parametric modeling. This process needs elaborate, delicate, and precise steps for harmonious output. For continuous use of building, users look forward to the design which variable and changeable according to user"s preference and environment. Therefore, demand for parametric design in the interior design part such as panel pattern design for various decoration is growing. Treated process in this paper deals with an advanced phase which much effective in decreasing time consumption and useless part of process. Finally, this paper suggests the possibility of using BIM in the interior design process and field where BIM can be applied.

객체 및 속성정보 제어를 이용한 bim기반 파라메트릭 인테리어 패널 디자인 접근방법

Increasing size and complexity of indoor structures have led to much more complication in the spatial cognition and situational awareness. Contrary to outdoor environments, occupants have limited information regarding the indoor space syntax in terms of architectural and semantic information as well as how they interact with their surroundings. The availability of such information could give conveniences to both users and managers in various aspects. In order to visualize the exact location of rooms and utilities in 3D, many studies and projects have utilized BIM models because of its promising value of representing building components. In fact, the application of BIM provides definitive spatial indoor data and creates services for indoor space management and navigation. Therefore, this paper aims to provide an overview of practices on BIM-based indoor spatial information implementation and location-based services. It is expected that enabling of technologies, data-rich content and accessibility of information products will accelerate the growth of the spatially-related markets in various fields.
