Investigating the antecedents to the adoption of SCRM technologies by start-up companies

This study aims to identify the business benefit of and factors affecting the use of social customer relationship management (SCRM) in Indian organizations.,Building on theoretical foundations, a conceptual model of factors affecting SCRM in Indian organizations is developed and empirically tested through a survey and corresponding analysis using SPSS and AMOS software.,The study presents empirical evidence that technological competence, environmental characteristics and organizational environment positively impact the actual use of SCRM on Indian organizations. Additionally, leadership support of organizations impacts positively the actual use of SCRM in organizations, while the trust factor insignificantly impacts the latter. The actual use of SCRM in organizations was found to have a positive impact on their business benefits.,The theoretical model is built on the constructs of the technology, environment and organizational framework. It has added new factors, such as leadership support and trust, and thereby identified the business benefits of organizations using SCRM mediating through the organizations’ actual use of SCRM. The proposed model is simple, implementable and has a high explanative power of 81 per cent.,The study provides practitioners with evidence and practicable knowledge regarding the means and impact/benefits of SCRM use in Indian organizations.,The study is one of few empirical studies on the topic and contributes valuable knowledge to extant works through additional factors, theoretical conceptualization and empirical scientific findings of both scholarly and executive worth.

Social customer relationship management factors and business benefits

Background: Despite the emergence and development of evidence-based practice (EBP) in recent years, its adoption continues to be limited. This study used Rogers's diffusion of innovation theory to identify the factors that advance EBP adoption, determine the process by which such adoption occurs, and develop an EBP adoption model. Methods: This descriptive correlational study with model testing design conducted in 2015.Data were collected from 482 individuals (322 nurses and 160 nursing students) applying a demographic information questionnaire, a standard scale for the perception EBP attributes, an EBP scale, and an individual innovation inventory. The relationships between variables we reexamined by path analysis. Results: The results showed that EBP adoption had a significant positive relationship with individual innovation (r = 0.578, P < 0.001), knowledge (r = 0.657, P < 0.001), attitude (r = 0.623,P < 0.001), and age (r = 0.357, P < 0.001). The findings of path analysis indicated that the goodness of fit indices such as goodness of fit index (GFI) = 0.999, comparative fit index (CFI)= 0.999, root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) = 0.036 were in the ideal ranges.Knowledge (total effect=0.309, P < 0.001), attitude (total effect = 0.372, P = 0.002), and work experience (total effect=0.321, P = 0.003) had the highest coefficient in the model. Conclusion: The results suggested that EBP adoption was influenced by various factors, such as individual innovation, attitude, knowledge, and the perception of EBP attributes. Among these factors, attitude had the greatest effect on EBP adoption. The findings can serve as a guide for the identification of factors that effectively influence EBP adoption. They can also be used as bases for the design of training programs intended to enhance the adoption of EBP.

Evaluating the adoption of evidence-based practice using Rogers's diffusion of innovation theory: a model testing study.

This study aimed to describe the adoption process in light of the diffusion of innovations and technologies of the management system enterprise resource planning in a non-profit organization, considering inhibiting and facilitating factors of this process and innovations or arising benefits. A descriptive qualitative approach was conducted through a case study. Triangulation of researchers was used in the content analysis of the empirical evidences obtained through 17 structured interviews. It was concluded with this study that the facilitating factors outweigh the inhibiting factors of the adoption of the system. With regard to innovations arising from the adoption of this technology, it was found that there were process and administrative innovations through the implementation of new processes, practices and structural organization, which resulted in the effective reach of the organization's objective, with respect to the compliance for business customers which had as goal to adjust themselves to the standards of minimum quotas for hiring young apprentices.

Technology adoption in diffusion of innovations perspective: introduction of an ERP system in a non-profit organization

This paper proposes a theoretical framework for the study of the diffusion of ICT in management and assistance services in healthcare and empirically verifies its applicability in studying adoption of technology in this area. There was a review of literature in the period 2004-2014. Based on this framework, the researchers verified empirically the applicability of organizational drivers proposed in the prior conditions, through a case study conducted by interviews with 13 managers of a Brazilian public hospital that is adopting a nursing prescription module. Through the content analysis, eight organizational drivers of the technology adoption were confirmed. For future research, it is relevant to verify the applicability of the organizational and individual drivers in the other phases of the framework organized according to Rogers (1983), as well as in the prior conditions, either by new case studies or by developing quantitative research instruments about the management process of technology adoption in organizations.

Drivers of the Technology Adoption In Healthcare

Este estudo investiga a atitude de usuarios em relacao ao Sistema Eletronico de Informacoes (SEI), adotado pelo Ministerio da Justica (MJ) do Brasil, baseando-se em dimensoes de adocao de tecnologia segundo Moore e Benbasat (1991). Aplicaram-se questionarios entre usuarios do SEI (N=208), incluindo a verificacao de evidencias de validade da escala por analise fatorial exploratoria. Como resultados, verificou-se que: ha confiabilidade dos fatores e os itens das dimensoes de vantagem relativa e compatibilidade compuseram um so fator; ha atitude favoravel ao SEI; grupos de usuarios que utilizam o SEI ha mais tempo diferiram em relacao aos iniciantes quanto a vantagem relativa, compatibilidade e testabilidade do sistema; pessoas mais velhas valorizaram facilidade de uso e testabilidade, enquanto as mais jovens valorizam demonstrabilidade de resultados. O estudo recomenda reflexoes sobre a variavel vantagem relativa, por ter incorporado outro fator, e tambem sobre novas aplicacoes do instrumento em outros orgaos publicos adotantes do SEI.
