Journal ArticleDOI

Studies in the (+)-morphinan series. 5. Synthesis and biological properties of (+)-naloxone.

TL;DR: (+)-Naloxone was prepared in 26% overall yield in eight steps from (+)-7-bromodihydrocodeinone dimethyl ketal by a synthesis which excluded enantiomeric contamination, and can serve to test the stereospecificity of the biochemical and pharmacological actions of (-)-nalox one.
Journal ArticleDOI

Doebner–Miller synthesis in a two-phase system: practical preparation of quinolines

TL;DR: Doebner-Miller cyclization was carried out in a two-phase solvent system as discussed by the authors, and the method has shown to be advantageous to the yield and to the ease of the work-up process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Syntheses and some properties of N-unsubstituted sulfilimines

TL;DR: In this paper, a variety of S-aminosulfonium mesitylenesulfonates, R1R2S+NH2·X−, were prepared in high yields by the reaction of sulfides with O-mesitylenes sulfonylhydroxylamine (MSH).
Journal ArticleDOI

Catalytic asymmetric oxidation of sulfide with titanium–mandelic acid complex: practical synthesis of (S)-3-[1-(2-methylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylsulfinyl]propan-1-ol, the key intermediate of OPC-29030

TL;DR: In this paper, an effective catalytic asymmetric oxidation of prochiral sulfide 1a to (S)-2a has been achieved by the use of chiral titanium-mandelic acid complex.
