Characteristics of multi-pass narrow-gap laser welding of D406A ultra-high strength steel

TL;DR: A universal and applicable method to predict bonding quality in narrow-gap laser beam filler wire welding of D406A ultra-high strength steel was presented in this paper, where defect-free joint could be achieved under the predicted optimal welding condition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microstructural and mechanical properties of wire-arc additively manufactured Al–Zn–Mg aluminum alloy: The comparison of as-deposited and heat-treated samples

TL;DR: In this article, a thin-wall sample is built with a homemade Al-6.2Zn-2.2Mg aluminum alloy welding wire using a gas welding arc as a heat source, then the deposit is subjected to the T6 heat treatment (HT).
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Laser Welding and Post-Weld Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Aged Ti55531 Alloy

TL;DR: The results showed that, for microstructures in different zones of as-welded joints of Ti55531: three forms of α phases were observed in base metal (BM); in the heat affected zone (HAZ), part of lamellar αS phase had dissolved while equiaxial αp phase had grown; the fusion zone (FZ) mainly consisted of β phase, which presented as coarse columnar crystals.

Method for calculating groove width of narrow gap laser filler wire welded plat

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for calculating the groove width of a narrow gap laser filler wire welded plate is presented, and the expected well-formed groove width is obtained according to the sidewall melting condition and spatial interference analysis.

Narrow gap thick plate wire filling welding method based on laser scanning

TL;DR: In this article, a narrow gap thick plate wire filling welding method based on laser scanning is proposed, which includes the following steps: forming a groove on a narrow-gap thick plate and executing preprocessing to remove an oxide skin of a to-be-welded area surface; clamping and placing the narrow gap thin plate to inert gas atmosphere by a clamp, adjusting a laser scanning welding head torealize that an axis of a laser beam emitted by the laser scanning head and a vertical direction form a first included angle, and meanwhile, adjust a wire feeding nozzle for
