TL;DR: A new ecological-security assessment model—DPSIRM, which is a causal-network combined with GIS spatial analysis method, is introduced, which reveals the ecological healthy-state of Dalian and its spatial differentiation of urban ecological security and suggests the essential role of urban management in urban ecologicalSecurity.
Abstract: The rapid urbanization process has resulted in innumerable ecological and environmental problems which are still worsening. This paper presents the advantages and disadvantages of several causal-chain models such as PSR, and introduces a new ecological-security assessment model—DPSIRM, which is a causal-network combined with GIS spatial analysis method. After investigating the healthy state of Dalian urban ecosystem, we draw the following conclusions: the network analysis model of “Driving force-Pressure-State-Impact-Response-Management” (DPSIRM) was developed based on analysis of the defects existing in previous chain models and the complexity of urban ecosystem, in which the essential role of human activities in urban ecological security was emphasized. The DPSIRM model reveals the internal correlations of all indicators and the relation of urban ecological security with the indicators. It reveals the ecological healthy-state of Dalian and its spatial differentiation of urban ecological security and suggests the essential role of urban management in urban ecological security.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper analyzed the spatial landscape pattern of the cultivated land patch of the Dalian 1∶10,000 land use database, and discussed the relationship between the cropped land patch slope grade and DEM scale.
Abstract: This paper analyses the spatial landscape pattern of the cultivated land patch of the of Dalian 1∶10,000 land use database; discusses the relationship between the cultivated land patch slope grade and DEM scale; presents the cultivated land slope grade technical process of region through GIS and DEM, realizes the cultivated land slope grade extraction through GIS program automatically; calculates the field ridge coefficient and the cultivated land net area through the cultivated land slope grade, as well as the cultivated land net area provides a scientific basis for the cultivated land database of the Second Territory Investigation, provides the protection and the spatial decision support of the cultivated land and the ecological and environmental.
