Journal ArticleDOI
Combining ability analysis and gene action for yield and yield related traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.) under saline conditions
TL;DR: Analysis of variance revealed a highly significant difference among testers and lines for all traits except panicle length and a number of effective tillers per plant, respectively and indicated preponderance of non-additive gene action governing these traits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Traits selection criteria for genetic improvement of grain and leafy Amaranth (Amaranthus spp) using Principal Component Analysis
TL;DR: All the 12 traits identified as strongly correlated with the three principal components of PC1 are well-correlated with Plant height at flowering, Stem girth, Number of leaves, plant height at maturity, leaf width, leaf length, leaf area and Petiole length.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance of three-way maize hybrids across different agro-ecologies
Akinyemi Solomon Makinde,Justina B.O. Porbeni,Richard Oluseyi Olayiwola,Omolayo Johnson Ariyo +3 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the screening of maize hybrid seeds in West and Central Africa (WCA) has been described as one of the most important issues in the development of maize in the region.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimation of Heterosis of Yield and Yield-Related Traits in the African Eggplant (Solanum Aethiopicum) Hybrids
Esther T. Akinyode,Justina B.O. Porbeni,D.K. Ojo,Olufemi O. O. Pitan,Adenike O. Olufolaji,Victor Chikaleke,Ayoola M. Abdul-Rafiu,D. O. Ibitoye +7 more
TL;DR: The aim of this study was to identify superior hybrids that can be advanced in the eggplant breeding program for improved yield and related traits.
