Effect of Mn content on structural, optical, opto-thermal and electrical properties of ZnO:Mn sprayed thin films compounds

Crystalline nickel oxide (NiO) thin films were obtained by simple spray pyrolysis technique using nickel chloride hexahydrate solutions onto glass substrates at different temperatures of 350, 400 and 450 °C. Structures of the as-deposited NiO thin films have been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the surface topography was performed by the atomic force microscope (AFM). The results show that NiO films crystallize in cubic phase structure with a preferred orientation of the crystallites along (1 1 1) direction. Furthermore, a conjoint new and original set of opto-thermal and hydrophobic investigations has been carried out and discussed relatively to the classically investigated structural, optical, mechanical and thermal characteristics, in order to compare optimized geometrical and crystalline structures.

Study of substrate temperature effects on structural, optical, mechanical and opto-thermal properties of NiO sprayed semiconductor thin films

A comprehensive Raman resonance scattering study of ZnSxSe1−x (ZnSSe) solid solutions over the whole compositional range (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) has been carried out using 325 and 455 nm excitation wavelengths. The Raman scattering intensities of LO ZnS-like and ZnSe-like phonon modes, corresponding to pure S and Se vibrations, respectively, are revealed to be significantly enhanced when excited with 325 nm excitation in the case of S vibrations, and with 455 nm in the case of Se vibrations. This behavior is explained by the interaction of the excitation photons with the corresponding S or Se electronic states in the conduction band, and further confirmed by first principles simulations. These findings advance the fundamental understanding of the coupling between the electronic transitions and photons in the case of Raman resonance effects, and provide inputs for further studies of lattice dynamics, especially in the case of chalcogenide materials. Additionally, the coexistence of modes corresponding to only S vibrations and only Se vibrations in the ZnSSe alloys makes these results applicable for the compositional assessment of ZnSSe compounds.

In this study, ZnSSe epilayers were grown on (111) ZnS sprayed thin films. The spectral analysis was carried out in the region from 400 to 1800 nm. Analyses of the transmittance and (or) reflectance spectra indicate a decrease of the band gap energy value Eg with selenization. As the selenization process changes the structure and property of prepared materials and therefore has a direct effect on their physical properties, one of the concerns of this paper is to investigate the depth-dependent composition changes as guides to monitoring the selenization kinetics. Photothermal, atomic force microscopy (AFM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) investigations have also been carried out.

Some physical investigations on ZnS1−xSex films obtained by selenization of ZnS sprayed films using the Boubaker polynomials expansion scheme

In this work, the spray pyrolysis system of aqueous solution contained zinc acetate as precursors is firstly selected to prepare ZnO thin films. Second, an annealing in selenium atmosphere using various time of these ZnO thin films has been used. The structural study shows that without selenium element (y = 0), ZnO thin films, were well crystallized in hexagonal structure and oriented preferentially along (002). To understand the optical behaviour as well as the structure in (ZnO)x(ZnSe)y alloys obtained from the mixture of these binaries materials, the optical analysis using the transmittance and reflectance R(%) and T(%) measurements of these alloys has been carried out.
