An improved representation of vegetative filter strips in swat
Raj Cibin,Indrajeet Chaubey,Matthew J. Helmers,K. P. Sudheer,Michael J. White,Jeffrey G. Arnold +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the physical representation of VFS in the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) is enhanced to improve the representation of ecohydrologic processes and land management practices in VFS areas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simulation-optimization framework for multi-season hybrid stochastic models.
TL;DR: The results show that the hybrid models obtained from the proposed framework are able to preserve the statistical characteristics as well as the storage characteristics better than the simulation based HMABB model, while minimizing the manual effort and the subjectivity involved in the modeling process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Probabilistic and ensemble simulation approaches for input uncertainty quantification of artificial neural network hydrological models
TL;DR: An optimization method, which integrates probabilistic and ensemble simulation approaches, is proposed for the quantification of input uncertainty of ANN models, and the results suggest that ignoring explicit quantified uncertainty leads to under/over estimation of model prediction uncertainty.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation into sustainable water use in India using combined large-scale earth system-based modelling and census-based statistical data
TL;DR: In this article, a data-intensive approach is employed at a State spatial resolution and monthly temporal scales during the period 1991-1999 to quantify and assess sustainable water use and water scarcity in India.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a hydrological model for simulation of runoff from catchments unbounded by ridge lines
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a novel hydrological model that can be directly applied to any catchment, with or without ridge line boundaries, based on the water balance concept and a linear function concept to approximate the cross-boundary flow from upstream areas to the administrative catchment under consideration.
