Entropy analysis of convective MHD flow of third grade non-Newtonian fluid over a stretching sheet

In this study, we derive an analytical solution describing the magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer flow of a second grade fluid over a shrinking sheet. Both exact and series solutions have been determined. For the series solution, the governing nonlinear problem is solved using the homotopy analysis method. The convergence of the obtained solution is analyzed explicitly. Graphical results have been presented and discussed for the pertinent parameters.

On the Analytic Solution of Magnetohydrodynamic Flow of a Second Grade Fluid Over a Shrinking Sheet

In the present investigation we have analyzed the boundary layer flow of a Jeffrey fluid over an exponentially stretching surface. The effects of thermal radiation are carried out for two cases of heat transfer analysis known as (1) Prescribed exponential order surface temperature (PEST) and (2) Prescribed exponential order heat flux (PEHF). The highly nonlinear coupled partial differential equations of Jeffrey fluid flow along with the energy equation are simplified by using similarity transformation techniques based on boundary layer assumptions. The reduced similarity equations are then solved analytically by the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The convergence of the HAM series solution is obtained by plotting $\hbar$ -curves for velocity and temperature. The effects of physical parameters on the velocity and temperature profiles are examined by plotting graphs.

An analysis is carried out to study the momentum, mass and heat transfer characteristics on the flow of visco-elastic fluid (Walter's liquid-B model) past a stretching sheet in the presence of a transverse magnetic field. In heat transfer, two cases are considered: 1. The sheet with prescribed surface temperature (PST case); and 2. The sheet with prescribed wall heat flux (PHF case). The solution of equations of momentum, mass and heat transfer are obtained analytically. Emphasis has been laid to study the effects of various parameters like magnetic parameter Mn, visco-elastic parameter k 1 , Schmidt number Sc , and Prandtl number Pr on flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics.
