Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization and prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the non-cirrhotic liver

TL;DR: It will be one of the major challenges in the future to awake awareness of carrying a risk of hepatic malignancies in patients with chronic liver diseases apart from liver cirrhosis, especially in NAFLD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Soil type-dependent effects of a potential biocontrol inoculant on indigenous bacterial communities in the rhizosphere of field-grown lettuce.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of Pseudomonas jessenii RU47 on the bacterial community composition in the rhizosphere of lettuce grown in diluvial sand, alluvial loam and loess loam at the same field site were analyzed by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) and pyrosequencing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Leukotriene receptor expression in esophageal squamous cell cancer and non-transformed esophageal epithelium: a matched case control study

TL;DR: Up-regulation of LTB4R and down- regulation of CYSLTR2 gene expression may occur already in normal squamous esophageal epithelium of patients with esophages cancer suggesting a potential role of these receptors in early steps of esophagal carcinogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Statistical test for tolerability of effects of an antifungal biocontrol strain on fungal communities in three arable soils.

TL;DR: Use of the developed equivalence test is not restricted to evaluate effects on soil microbial communities by inoculants for biocontrol, bioremediation or other purposes, but could also be applied for biosafety assessment of compounds like pesticides, or genetically engineered plants.
