An improved disk drive unit is provided for use in microcomputers such as personal computers and the like. The disk drive unit includes a substantially sealed disk drive housing and related circuit board with drive electronics carried by a common rigid chassis. A power connector plug is securely mounted onto the chassis at a rear margin thereof and cooperates with one or more interface connectors to permit simple slide fit installation of the disk drive unit into a computer system cabinet, such as a central processor unit for a computer. In addition, the disk drive unit includes improved shock mounts for supporting the sealed disk drive housing from the rigid chassis. The disk drive unit further includes a floating bushing arrangement for interconnecting the circuit board to the disk drive housing in a manner substantially isolating thermal expansion characteristics of the circuit board from the remainder of the disk drive unit.

Rubber sleeve spring with an hydraulic damping, including two connecting pieces which enclose one another in a relationship parallel to their axes and are radially spaced apart and, in which, in the gap formed by this space, there are two spring bodies successively disposed in radial direction and preferably made of a rubber elastic material of which the external spring body encloses liquid filled chambers with a basically cross-like configured profile. At least two chambers of the external spring body which are opposite to one another are connected via a dampening opening and an intermediate mass is provided between the external and the internal spring body. The intermediate mass comprises two opposing half shells 7.1, 7.2 associated with the vertical center plane of the external spring body 4 in a mirror-inverted relationship. The half shells 7.1, 7.2 and the external spring body 4 are permanently attached to each other and the internal spring body 3 is pressed into the free space which is enclosed by the half shells 7.1, 7.2 while the external spring body 4 is radially pressed together.

A power unit mount comprises a generally T shaped elastomeric member between an outer member and an inner member. The generally T shaped elastomeric member has two armed portions and a leg portion. Upon application of a static load due to the weight of a power unit, the leg portion is compressed and the arm portions lie in the horizontal plane.

The vibration-damping bushing is provided having an outer cylinder and an inner cylinder which are coaxially arranged with each other. A ring-shaped insert which is made of a resin material having good slidability is inserted between the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder so that the inner peripheral surface of the insert is closely disposed to the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder. A pair of ring-shaped vibration-damping rubber members are press-fitted between the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder on both sides of the ring-shaped insert with metallic sleeves joined to the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of said ring-shaped vibration-damping rubber members, respectively. The inside axial end of the inner peripheral surface of each vibration-damping rubber member is spaced apart from each axial end surface of the insert by a predetermined distance. Upon input of the vibrations in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction, the inner cylinder comes into pressed contact with the insert, thereby sufficiently increasing the rigidity of the vibration damping bushing. Upon the input of the vibrations in the axial direction of the bushing, the inner cylinder freely slides relative to the insert, thereby decreasing the spring force of the vibration-damping bushing, and accordingly effecting good cushioning properties.

The present invention features an insulator unit for supporting a suspension arrangement on a chassis or the like. The main elastomeric body of the insulator is arranged to have sufficient rigidity as to limit the displacement of the suspension with respect to the chassis. The device further includes a vibratory mass or masses which upon being excited cancel vibrations which would otherwise be transmitted through the main elastomeric member.

A vibration absorber for an automotive vehicle which can prevent the shuddering phenomenon even while the vehicle is gradually accelerated or decelerated. The rubber member thereof is provided with multistep elasticity characteristics such that a first shearing portion of the rubber member is first deformed in shear, a second shearing portion thereof is next deformed in shear, and the other portion thereof is lastly deformed under compression. To achieve the above-mentioned elasticity characteristics, some appropriately sized slots, cavities, or gaps are provided within the rubber member at appropriate positions within the rubber member.

Vibration absorber for an automotive vehicle

PURPOSE:To absorb shock and improve vibration damping effect by a method wherein the multi-stage property with shearing deformation is given to the rubber body of the stopper of the captioned device employed for mounting a power unit for an automobile. CONSTITUTION:The vibration-proof device is installed intermediately between the power unit and a car body, and when a large vibrating input acts in the direction phi due to quick acceleration or deceleration of the vehicle or the like, the deformation in the direction of shearing is caused in the rubber body 4 coupling the 1st and 2nd members 1 and 2. By this deformation, first the gap 8 of a rubber body 5 is crushed, while the low rigidity of the rubber body 5 is maintained due to its deformation in the direction of shearing. Then, after the gap 8 is crushed, compression deformation is caused. By this compression deformation, high rigidity is maintained. Accordingly, the rise in the property of the stopper is slackened and the shock can be avoided, while the low rigidity is maintained until the stopper functions even when a relatively-large load is made to act. Thereby the vibration damping effect is obtained and thus the phenomenon of shuddering can be reduced.
