Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of diazinon on biochemical parameters of blood in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

TL;DR: No significant differences were observed in the plasma levels of creatinine among the treatment groups at different sampling intervals, and Acetylcholinesterase activity and the levels of total protein, albumin as well as globulin in plasma were significantly reduced at both concentrations tested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biochemical and histological changes in the liver tissue of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) exposed to sub-lethal concentrations of diazinon.

TL;DR: The results showed that diazinon altered the activity of antioxidant enzymes and the cellular total antioxidant capacity inducing oxidative stress and cellular damage in hepatocytes evidenced by histopathological analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Watercress ( Nasturtium nasturtium ) extract on selected immunological parameters of rainbow trout ( Oncorhynchus mykiss )

TL;DR: Oral administration of 1 % watercress extract in fish may enhance some hematological and immunological parameters including Hb and MCHC, lysozyme and complement activities, total protein and globulin levels, compared to the controls after 21 days of experimental period.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of the immunomodulatory effects of silymarin extract (silybum marianum ) on some immune parameters of rainbow trout, oncorhynchus mykiss (actinopterygii: salmoniformes: salmonidae)

TL;DR: In fish therapy efforts reported from many parts of the world, chemical drugs in aquaculture industry have been replaced by herbal medicine and the effect of herbal drugs on the health status of fish has been overlooked.
Journal ArticleDOI

Histopathological Alterations Induced by Diazinon in Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

TL;DR: The results indicate the existence of a direct relationship between the pollution of ecosystems by organ phosphorus pesticides such as diazinon and histopathological disorders in different tissues of exposed fishes.
