Journal ArticleDOI
A comparison of generic, indirect utility measures (the HUI2, HUI3, SF-6D and the EQ-5D) and disease-specific instruments (the RAQoL and the HAQ) in rheumatoid arthritis
Carlo A. Marra,John Woolcott,Jacek A. Kopec,Kamran Shojania,Robert Offer,John Brazier,John M. Esdaile,Aslam H. Anis +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the all of the preference-based utility measures that were evaluated appear to adequately discriminate across levels of RA severity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Psoriasis and pustular dermatitis triggered by TNF-{alpha} inhibitors in patients with rheumatologic conditions
Gillian C. de Gannes,Mehran Ghoreishi,Janet E. Pope,Anthony S. Russell,David A. Bell,Stewart Adams,Kamran Shojania,Magdalena Martinka,Jan P. Dutz +8 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that the cross regulation between TNF-alpha and IFN may have a role in the pathogenesis of new onset or severe exacerbation of psoriasis, and the finding of increased production of IFN-alpha in T NF-alpha inhibitor-induced Psoriasis is a possible pathophysiologic explanation for this reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dual Energy Computed Tomography in tophaceous gout
Hyon K. Choi,Abdullatif Al-Arfaj,Arash Eftekhari,Peter L. Munk,Kamran Shojania,Graham D. Reid,Savvas Nicolaou +6 more
TL;DR: DECT scans can produce obvious colour displays for urate deposits and help to identify subclinical tophus deposits, and toPhus volume can be measured by DECT scans through an automated volume estimation procedure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development and validation of the Spondyloarthritis Research Consortium of Canada (SPARCC) Enthesitis Index
Walter P. Maksymowych,Catherine Mallon,Sharon Morrow,Kamran Shojania,Wojciech P. Olszynski,Robert L. Wong,J. Sampalis,Barbara Conner-Spady +7 more
TL;DR: AS patients with enthesitis constitute a more severe subset of disease, and the Spondyloarthritis Research Consortium of Canada (SPARCC) Enthesitis Index is feasible and reliable for measurement of this condition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dual energy CT in gout: a prospective validation study
Hyon K. Choi,Hyon K. Choi,Lindsay C Burns,Kamran Shojania,Nicole Koenig,Graham D. Reid,Mohammed Abufayyah,Genevieve Law,Alison S. R. Kydd,Hugue Ouellette,Savvas Nicolaou +10 more
TL;DR: The specificity was high, but sensitivity was more moderate, potentially due to frequent ULT use in the authors' patients, and prospective data indicate high reproducibility of DECT urate volume measures.
