On the geometry of the fuel rod supports concerning a fretting wear failure

TL;DR: In this article, the spacer grid springs and dimples of a light water reactor fuel assembly are studied concerning a fuel rod's fretting wear failure by conducting a flow-induced vibration test.

Spacer grid spring for increasing the conformal contact area with fuel rod

TL;DR: In this paper, the shape of the spacer grid spring of the grid strap which is in contact with the fuel rod is optimized, thereby the elasticity of the Spacer Grid spring contacting the rod is increased, the conformal contact area with a contact portion of the SRS contacting the rods is expanded to obtain uniform stress distribution, and excessive plastic deformation of the SPRS can be reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Micro-accelerometer Based on Vertically Movable Gate Field Effect Transistor

TL;DR: A vertically movable gate field effect transistor (VMGFET) using air gap as an insulator layer allowing the gate to move on the substrate vertically by external forces is proposed and demonstrated for a micro-accelerometer application.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simple analytical method for predicting the sloshing motion in a rectangular pool

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a simple analytical method for predicting the sloshing motion in a rectangular pool for a wide range of excitation frequencies, and the correlation among the linear theory parameters, influencing on excitation and convective waves, was investigated.
Journal Article

Analysis of the optimized h type grid spring by a characterization test and the finite element method under the in-grid boundary condition

TL;DR: In this paper, a saddle-based and assembly-based characterization test for the Zirconium alloy spacer grids for advanced LWR fuel assembly is presented, and the results of the test are reasonably conducted and can be used for the spring characterization in core.
