A CMOS type semiconductor image sensor module wherein a pixel aperture ratio is improved, chip use efficiency is improved and furthermore, simultaneous shutter operation by all the pixels is made possible, and a method for manufacturing such semiconductor image sensor module are provided. The semiconductor image sensor module is provided by stacking a first semiconductor chip, which has an image sensor wherein a plurality of pixels composed of a photoelectric conversion element and a transistor are arranged, and a second semiconductor chip, which has an A/D converter array. Preferably, the semiconductor image sensor module is provided by stacking a third semiconductor chip having a memory element array. Furthermore, the semiconductor image sensor module is provided by stacking the first semiconductor chip having the image sensor and a fourth semiconductor chip having an analog nonvolatile memory array.

Semiconductor image sensor module and method of manufacturing the same

A light emitting device which is capable of suppressing deterioration by diffusion of impurities such as moisture, oxygen, alkaline metal and alkaline earth metal, and concretely, a flexible light emitting device which has light emitting element formed on a plastic substrate. On the plastic substrate, disposed are two layers and more of barrier films comprising a layer represented by AlNxOy which is capable of blocking intrusion of moisture and oxygen in a light emitting layer and blocking intrusion of impurities such as an alkaline metal and an alkaline earth metal in an active layer of TFT, and further, a stress relaxation film containing resin is disposed between two layers of barrier films.

Light emitting device and electronic apparatus

By doping an organic compound functioning as an electron donor (hereinafter referred to as donor molecules) into an organic compound layer contacting a cathode, donor levels can be formed between respective LUMO (lowest unoccupied molecular orbital) levels between the cathode and the organic compound layer, and therefore electrons can be injected from the cathode, and transmission of the injected electrons can be performed with good efficiency. Further, there are no problems such as excessive energy loss, deterioration of the organic compound layer itself, and the like accompanying electron movement, and therefore an increase in the electron injecting characteristics and a decrease in the driver voltage can both be achieved without depending on the work function of the cathode material.

Light Emitting Device

An EL display device includes: a source driver circuit to output a video signal voltage; a gate driver circuit to select a pixel in a display screen; a first capacitor to maintain the video signal voltage; and a drive transistor to supply current to an EL element of a pixel. The video signal voltage is applied to the drive transistor to perform a predetermined operation, and written into the first capacitor. The video signal voltage maintained in the first capacitor is used to perform an offset cancel operation.

El display device

The invention provides an image display device that has an especially satisfactory display quality for animated images, and sufficiently suppresses the irregularities of display quality among pixels. The image display device includes a light emitting drive means that drives a light emitting means, based on an analog display signal inputted to the pixels, and a light emitting control switch for controlling a light-on or light-off of the light emitting means on one end of the light emitting drive means in each pixel.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the influence of variance in the threshold characteristic of a driving transistor. SOLUTION: The disclosed driving circuit for the current control element has the driving transistor 6 and current control element 7 which are connected in series between a power line 1 and a ground line 2, a hold capacitor 5 which is connected between the connection point between the driving transistor 6 and current control element 7 and the gate electrode of the driving transistor 6, and a select gate transistor 4 which is connected between a signal line 3 and the gate electrode of the driving transistor 6. Then the driving circuit turns on the select gate transistor 4 in a selection period to input a 1st signal voltage from the signal line 3, inputs and holds a 2nd signal voltage from the signal line 3 in the hold capacitor 5 after discharging signal charges written to the hold capacitor 5 through the driving transistor 6, and turns off the select gate transistor 4 in a non-selection period to supply a current to the current control element 7 through the driving transistor 6. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve picture quality of an image display device by reducing dispersion in luminance of the pixels of the device. SOLUTION: In an image display section 50 3 , 2 , a reset transistor 58 3 , 2 is turned on and a holding capacitor 54 3 , 2 and a parasitic capacitor 57 3 , 2 are discharged. Then, a selecting transistor 53 3 , 2 is turned on, gradation pixel data are written into a holding capacitor 54 3 , 2 from a signal line X 3 and electric charges of the written gradation pixel data are discharged through a driving transistor 55 3 , 2 for a specific time. Then, the transistor 53 3 , 2 is turned off, the gate electrode of the transistor 55 3 , 2 is put into a floating state and electric charges of the gradation pixel data accumulated in the capacitor 54 3 , 2 are held. Similar processes are also conducted for adjacent pixels 50 2 , 2 and 50 4 , 2 . Thus, dispersion in the currents of driving transistors 55 2 , 2 , 55 3 , 2 and 55 4 , 2 is made small and dispersion in the luminance gradation of pixel display elements 56 2 , 2 , 56 3 , 2 and 56 4 , 2 is also made small. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the adverse effect caused by a parasitic capacitor connected to a signal line of a driving circuit which drives current driven elements such as organic EL (light emitting) being assembled into an active matrix type image display device or the like and to drive the elements with an appropriate current even though a signal current is minute. SOLUTION: An auxiliary transistor 12 having an n times current driving capability of a driving transistor 7 is connected to the transistor 7 in parallel. In a portion (an acceleration interval) of a selection interval, a drain current is made to flow in the transistor 12 also and a signal current itself, which flows in a signal line 3, is made to (n+1) times. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current driving circuit which can prevent variations in characteristics of transistors constituting the current driving circuit and can prevent variations in driving currents due to parasitic capacities of signal lines and an image display device. SOLUTION: A current holding circuit 9, a switch 11 and a load 3 are connected in series between a power source terminal 1 and a grounding terminal 2 and a constant current control line 5 is connected to the control input of the current value holding circuit 9 and a constant current line 4 is connected to the data input via a switch 8 and a data line 6 is connected to the control input of the switch 11 via a current value holding circuit 10 whose control input is connected to a data line control line 7. In the current value holding circuit 9, the constant current of the constant current line is held when the constant current control line is in an active state and a held constant current is outputted when the constant current control line is in an inactive state. In the current value holding circuit 10, the signal of the data line is held and the signal is inputted to the switch 11 when the data line control line is in an active state and a held signal is inputted to the switch 11 untill a next active state when the data line control line is in an inactive state. Current driving circuit and image display device

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for driving piezoelectric transformer, which can widen the variable range of the output voltage of a high-voltage power unit using a piezoelectric transformer. SOLUTION: A method for driving piezoelectric transformer incorporates a first control method for controlling the boosting rate of a piezoelectric transformer 13 and a second control method for controlling the driving waveform of the transformer 13. A hysteresis characteristic is given to the threshold for switching the control methods to each other, so as to avoid the drive of the transformer 13 at its natural frequency by eliminating the occurrence of an irregular drive frequency. When the power supply voltage is fixed, the drive frequency is raised and the boosting rate is reduced from that at the time of the maximum output voltage, by changing the resistance value of a resistor 16 for detected, until the drive frequency reaches the natural frequency at which a trouble occurs. When the frequency reaches the natural frequency, the amplitude of the driving waveform is reduced by reducing the power supply to a drive circuit 12 so as to lower the driving frequency, without changing the output voltage. The minimum output voltage is obtained by raising the drive frequency to the natural frequency, by again changing the resistance value of the resistor 16 while the amplitude is small.
