An object of the present invention is to perform a suitable registration of a flow rate of appliances to promote the optimization of a usage time limitation function. In a gas shut-off device according to the invention, a flow rate detection unit measures a flow rate, a flow rate calculation unit calculates values of instant flow rates from a detection value, an average flow rate calculation unit obtains an average flow rate from the obtained instant flow rates, a flow rate change decision unit decides the presence or absence of a change in the flow rate based on the obtained average flow rate, a flow rate storage unit stores a value of the obtained average flow rate, an increase flow rate registration unit registers an amount of the flow rate change at the time of increase change decision by the flow rate change decision unit, a decrease flow rate re-registration unit reduces the registered flow rate near an amount of the flow rate change at the time of decrease change decision by the flow rate change decision unit, and re-registers and replaces it with a value of the average flow rate obtained by the average flow rate calculation unit after the reduction of the registered flow rate, and a shut-off unit shuts off the supply of gas when decided as an abnormality by an abnormality decision unit from the registered flow rate and a decision value.

Gas shut-off device

A microcomputer included in a respiratory monitoring system selects sensors that have output signals related to respiration of a person from sensors detecting forces applied by the person. To select the sensors, levels of the signals are compared between a respiratory frequency band and another frequency band. If the level of the signal in the respiratory frequency band is predetermined times higher than that of the signal in the other frequency band, the sensor is selected. The respiratory curve is produced based on weight signals outputted from the selected sensors.

Respiratory monitoring system

The present invention relates to an electro-active device having an electro-active structure extending along a minor axis (36) which is curved, for example in a helix around a major axis (37). The electro-active structure comprises successive electro-active portions (35) extending around said minor axis and arranged with electrodes to bend, when activated, around the minor axis (36) such that bending of the successive portions (35) is concomitant with rotation of the electro-active structure about the minor axis (36) adding incrementally along the minor axis (36). The electro-active structure generates displacement out of the local plane in which the minor axis is curved. The electro-active structure may be a continuous electro-active tape-like member (35) extending along and curving around the minor axis (36), for example helically to form a helix. Alternatively, the electro-active structure may be a plurality of discrete elements (211) connected together. The electro-active portions preferably have a bender structure formed from a plurality of layers. The device may be used as a driver, a sensor or a generator.

Systems and methods for controlling the position of a user of a wearable positional therapy device are provided. The wearable position therapy device can be configured to monitor and store physiological signals that can be used to assess sleep quality and sleeping position of a user. The device can be configured to be worn around the head, the neck, or body of the user. The device can be configured to provide feedback to a user if the user is sleeping or is positioned in a target position to induce the user to change positions. The feedback can be provided by one or more haptic motors that can be configured to provide various levels of feedback and the level of feedback can be customized based on the user's reaction to the feedback.

Systems and methods for controlling position

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow measuring instrument provided with an appliance determination means for determining an appliance connected to a flow passage to measure a using flow rate in every appliance. SOLUTION: This flow measuring instrument is provided with a started-up appliance determining means for determining the appliance connected to the flow passage to be used, based on an optional specified interval differential flow rate found from a flow rate value measured in every a prescribed time interval by a flow measuring means, and a stopped appliance determining means for determining the use-stopped appliance, based on the specified interval differential flow rate. The instrument can determines precisely the appliance stopped because a selecting appliance range is narrow, since the stopped appliance is determined based on two pieces of information of use starting-up appliance information and flow rate information, by providing an appliance correlating means for determining the stopped appliance out of the appliances determined as the use started-up appliances, with selection based on a stop determination condition, and for correlating the started-up appliance with the stopped appliance. Flow measuring instrument

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably, highly accurately and automatically sense whether fluid leaks from a pipe line by closing a shut-off valve when flow of fluid in the pipe line drops to a predetermined value or lower and by measuring a pressure change at downstream of the shut-off valve. SOLUTION: A control means 22 monitors a flow rate in a pipe line 17 by a measured value of an instantaneous flow meter 21 and closes a shut-off valve 18 when the flow rate drops to a predetermined value or lower. When pressure in a downstream pipe line 20 measured by a downstream pressure detecting means 19 drops to a predetermined value or lower within a predetermined time, leakage is determined, and when measurement is complete, the valve 18 is opened and gas is normally supplied. By using the flow meter 21, drop of the flow rate to a predetermined value or lower can be determined instantly, so that a trouble such as a flame failure in a gas device 28 can be prevented even if the valve 18 is closed. When a reducing valve 24 reaches set pressure with the gas device 28 used during pressure measurement with the valve 18 closed, the gas may be supplied from the valve 24 allowing normal operation, while when the valve 24 is operated, leakage determination is stopped to have the valve 18 opened to normally supply the gas.

Pipe leakage monitor

PURPOSE: To make it possible to detect an apnea symptom which is a respiration lesion arising during sleeping. CONSTITUTION: This apparatus has respiration sensors 7, 8 disposed in a bedding 6 and a deciding means 9 which decides the apnea symptom in accordance with the signals of these respiration sensors 7, 8. Apparatus for measuring information on respiration during sleeping

SOLUTION: The gas meter device is comprised by containing a flow-metering means 3, connected with gas supply lines for domestic use, measuring gas flow rate at a constant time interval, an operation means 5 calculating the difference of flow rate outputted from the flow-metering means 3, and a comparing and discriminating means 8 where, by comparing the calculated difference from the operation means 5 with the magnitude of variation discriminating value registered in a memory means 6, the variation is discriminated of busy condition of gas apparatuses.
