Understanding the ageing aspects of natural ester based insulation liquid in power transformer
TL;DR: In this article, the performance of Natural Esters (NE) as insulation in transformers was evaluated by evaluating the ageing of NE impregnated cellulose pressboard, and the results were compared with cellulose insulation samples aged under similar conditions in conventional mineral oil.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance of natural ester as a transformer oil in moisture-rich environments
TL;DR: In this article, the aging behavior of transformer grade pressboard (PB) impregnated in natural ester (NE) and conventional mineral oil is compared. And the applicability of a number of chemical and physical parameters, including acidity value, dielectric dissipation factor (DDF), viscosity, and colour for assessing the quality of NE insulating oil is also discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modelling the dielectric response measurements of transformer oil
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the behavior of insulating oil during frequency domain and time domain dielectric response measurements using a commercially available natural ester and mineral oil, and proposed two new models for characterizing frequency and time-domain response of oil based on the charge transport phenomenon at the electrode interface.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Compare the performance of natural ester with synthetic ester as transformer insulating oil
TL;DR: In this paper, the ageing behavior of the dry pressboard insulation immersed in a commercially available natural ester and a synthetic ester through accelerated ageing experiment is assessed. And the change of AC breakdown strength of natural and synthetic esters due to mixing with mineral oil (new and aged) is analyzed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Comparative study for understanding the behaviour of natural ester with mineral oil as a transformer insulating liquid
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the dielectric behavior of a commercially available sunflower oil based natural ester with Shell Diala mineral oil and presented that the observed response patterns show that real capacitance and AC conductivity is dispersed in low frequency region of FDS and measured polarisation current monotonically decreases over measuring time.
