Taxa areDictyopanus pusillus, Favolus alveolaris, F. tenuiculus, Lentinus bertierii, L. crinitis, L. punctaticeps, L. strigellus, L. strigosus, L. suavissimus, Pleurotus australis, P. levis, P. tuberregium, Polyporus ciliatus, P. elegans, P. squamosus, andP. varius. All are tetrapolar exceptP. elegans.

Abstract: A new species, Pleurotus abieticola, was col- lected in far eastern Russia. We show that Pleurotus abieticola is reproductively isolated from other Pleu- rotus species. Comparisons of ribosomal ITS DNA-se- quence data grouped P abieticola with monomitic pleurotoid species of the genus, while cluster analysis (Neighbor Joining) and parsimony analysis indicated that P abieticola was distinct from extant species. The combination of differences in morphology, repro- ductive isolation, substrate preference and DNA se- quence justifies the proposal of a new species.
