TL;DR: Ethnic inequalities in the scope and nature of suboptimal asthma care for children in the Netherlands seem to exist and for the non-western immigrant groups the results indicate the importance of the prescription behaviour of the medical doctor, as well as the supervision by one health care provider.

Tobacco control policy development in the European Union: do political factors matter?

TL;DR: The results suggest that, on the whole, national political factors have had only a minor influence on the large variations in tobacco control policy development in Europe over the last 15 years, but there are indications that left-wing governments were important for early adoption of Tobacco Control Scale and high government effectiveness was important in the phase of adopting innovative policies.

The role of body weight, fat distribution and weight change in ethnic differences in the 9-year incidence of hypertension

TL;DR: The ethnic differences in the incidence of hypertension among a middle-aged group with a Dutch, South Asian Surinamese and African Suriname background were partly explained by body composition, suggesting that other factors may be involved, including genetic factors or unidentified other determinants.
