TheB locus (MHC) in the chicken: Association with the fate of RSV-induced tumors

TL;DR: The MHC chromosomal region in the chicken appears to exert a crucial role in determining the outcome of RSV-induced tumors and in chickens with terminal tumors, the incidence of metastatic lesions was also significantly associated withB genotypes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of Non-MHC T Lymphocyte Alloantigens on Regression of Rous sarcomas in the Chicken

TL;DR: Results indicate that higher regression is associated with an interaction between the line 63 Ly-4aand Th-1aalleles in homozygous form and dominance x dominance interaction, in that the a allele at each locus is dominant for higher regression only within the Homozygous aa genotype at the other locus.
Journal ArticleDOI

B locus (MHC) effect upon regression of RSV-induced tumors in noninbred chickens

TL;DR: It is concluded that regression of RSV-induced tumors was a dominantly inherited trait controlled by a gene within, or closely linked to, the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) of the Rous sarcoma virus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Host Age and Major Histocompatibility Genotype Influence on Rous Sarcoma Regression in Chickens

TL;DR: The influence of host age and B (major histocompatibility complex) genotype on the fate of Rous sarcoma virus (RSV)-induced tumors was investigated and preliminary experiments with noninbred White Leghorns showed that chickens RSV-inoculated at 4 weeks of age had a significantly lower incidence of tumor regression.
