Rotational velocities for early-type stars in the young large magellanic cloud cluster r136: further study of the relationship between rotation speed and density in star-forming regions

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of a study aimed at assessing the distribution of rotation speeds, N(v sin i) among O- and early B-type stars located in R136, a young (t ~ 1-4 Myr) cluster in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) characterized by a stellar density at least three times that of the densest Galactic clusters in which stellar rotational velocities have been measured.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-Resolution Infrared Spectroscopy of the Brown Dwarf Epsilon Indi Ba

TL;DR: In this article, high-resolution infrared spectra of the newly discovered brown dwarf Epsilon Indi Ba were analyzed and the physical parameters of effective temperature and surface gravity were derived by comparison to model spectra calculated from atmospheres computed using unified cloudy models.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Projected Rotational Velocity Distribution of a Sample of OB stars from a Calibration based on Synthetic He I lines

TL;DR: In this paper, the projected rotational velocities (vsini) for a sample of 156 Galactic OB star members of 35 clusters, HII regions, and associations were derived using the He I FWHM calibrations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Non-LTE Abundances of Magnesium, Aluminum and Sulfur in OB Stars Near the Solar Circle

TL;DR: In this article, the abundances of magnesium, aluminum and sulfur were derived for a sample of 23 low-v \sin i stars belonging to six northern OB associations of the Galactic disk within 1 kpc of the Sun.
