Since the isomerization progresses easily even in air without producing by-products such as oxides, polymers, etc., and the obtained clathrate compound is free of the above defects, it can be used as a solar system in which the light energy is stored in the form of thermal energy by isomerization of the compound.

PREPARATION:The objective photo-sensitive clathrate compound can be prepared by including norbornadiene or its derivative in a cyclodextrin-ketocarboxylic acid ester prepared by the condensation reaction of cyclodextrin with a ketocarboxylic acid such as 4-acetylbenzoic acid, o-benzoylbenzoic acid, pyroracemic acid, levulic acid, etc.

PURPOSE:To produce a heat-resistant resin of excellent heat stability, and adding a fluorine-containing methacrylate ester to methyl methacrylate and polymerizing the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of (A) methyl methacrylate and (B) a fluoroalkyl methacrylate of the formula (wherein n=1-5) is copolymerized. Component B can be easily copolymerized with component A by means of a radical initiator, an ionizing radiation, ultraviolet irradiation, etc. The obtained copolymer has excellent heat stability because it is freed from initiator fragments or the like which are liable to adversely affect the heat stability. This copolymer can be used in the production of thermoplastic resin moldings, or powder or films which can be used advantageously especially in air at temperature excluding a range exceeding 300 deg.C where rapid depolymerization occurs both in an inert gas atmosphere and in air. Besides, even at above 300 deg.C, the heat decomposition product formed consists of a simple mixture having the same composition as that of the initial, and no harmful by-product is formed.
